[Suggestion] To ban Casinos From EMC

From what i have seen casinos are 90% of the time only beneficial to the owner of the casino. and a casino being "Family Friendly" ?
Gambling
Betting

I do not believe that casinos should be allowed on EMC if this is in the wrong sub thread then it can be moved. but its a suggestion that it should be banned from EMC

-1 casinos can be fun for some people, as I hate loosing 200k in casinos it can be enjoyable, people just need to know when to stop xD

I just work under the assumption that every one of them is a scam, verified or not.

Casinos, I feel that casinos in real life are very bad, and I think it's very unfair to people who aren't educated. And it's also very sad... And I don't think that should be promoted. (PROMOted, get it? Okay-) However, Casinos aren't promoted, they're just kind of there, and I think that they are kind of fun! I had a lot of fun when I got a bunch of free tokens...

However, I would never use one of these. I feel like it's sort of a scam and it's sort of cheap, and I mean - If there was some way to prevent people from overusing it so it practically is a scam... I feel it's kind of fun to have a book and say, throw it in here for a chance at 200r! That's really cool! And fun! But I don't think it should be widespread, I mean, EHHHHHHHHH---

I don't think it should be promoted on EMC, and I feel like that people should be informed not to use these - So while a lot of people have fun and great and working casinos... I wouldn't object to bans. I'll have to think about this more...

i love them, it is one of the main reasons i even play anymore

From what I have seen players get addicted to casinos in game just like in real life leading them to either beg for r or other items to feed their addiction. I think they should go. They really don't do much for the player economy in a beneficial way

I personally like the challenge of building redstone games, I also like building complex redstone shops, however there is not much need for them on EMC.

I don't really make mine to make a profit (I reckon there are easier ways to do that, mining quartz for example)
but as a fun redstone build (like trying to fully automate the wheel of fortune or rock paper scissors type game).

I can see why some would want them banned but would miss the fun that is involved.
I see gambling becoming more the norm in real life (betting apps, microtransactions, mobile bingo etc) and it does worry me.
I think it should be clear to everyone that the house always wins long term, but maybe it's best to learn that in minecraft than real life with real money.

Maybe a middle ground would be an opt out? Not sure quite how it would work but maybe if you opt out you can't enter or interact with a res with the casino tag?

I guess if they were banned I could move on to redstone mini games (which i plan to do anyway) but I would miss these ones.

I've never really liked the concept of casinos, as they seem to be an unfair way to easily get money. Additionally, once machines are approved by staff, it's completely possible for the owners to then go back and change the machine so that the odds are not what is posted, or make some other modification that makes it unfair for the players. +1.

They are great! If you don't want to use them, don't use them! Others should not be losing the privilege of running casinos on EMC if one loses tons of money on them and complains about it (not saying you did). It is unfair for those who run them. Also, YOU MAY NOT WIN and players play the machines KNOWING that.

Casinos being legal allow the owner of the casino to get money far too easily. The odds at casinos are always made so you end up losing money in the long run, and the owner of the casino ends up making money.

Those who say yes do have the option to not go to casinos.... I enjoy gambling once and a while!

Edit: I don't say this to discredit your opinion, but you certainly do have something to lose if casinos were made illegal.

Good point. I do have a place in one of them. I do not however force people to gamble. People gamble by choice

Sure, but people could just as easily hook up a hopper up to a dropper and comparator and call it good.

Yes they do have a choice but it is not a family friendly thing to have... fact that it is gambling or anything. Say a kid plays EMC and they had told their parents when they first started that this was family friendly and the parent understands that but then they see their kid on a res with a casino and the parent happens to walk by and ask oh what are you doing. And the kid says “oh just throwing a token into a slot machin” he parent then thinks oh my son/daughter said this was family friendly and the parent may not think that a casino is family friendly.

You are not going to tell me where to spend my money.

I do find fun sometimes playing, for example, at lucky’s wheel of fortune because usually there are multiple people seeing, and everyone is anxious.

It also depends on what do you consider a casino, i mean those games whih you pay to play, but if you win you get your money back.(where there is some skill required to win) i do not consider those casinos.

For redstone only machines (except where owner needs to be present like Lucky’s) I do agree they should be made illegal
