I can't remember who was building on the purple balloon just south of Philo Tower, but I removed the dirt bridge from the balloon to the tower, only later realizing that I may have stranded you out on your balloon. If so, just make sure you don't leave another dirt bridge before logging off. The balloon looks nice, though! I like it! Also, I don't know how often my tower tenants get on anymore, I know I don't make it to EMC very often, but I have noticed a few small griefings, so I know SOMEONE is at least passing through. If you notice anything and you can't fix it, shoot me a PM in the forums here and I'll see if I have the materials. Speaking of materials, if anyone has any extra sand, sandstone, or glass and wouldn't mind making a donation (or a trade, if my items are valuable to you) for the new tower, yet to be named. I'm finding the design to be very demanding of sandstone and glass (at least the way I want to make it), so any of that would be greatly appreciated. Again, shoot me a PM and I'll set up a locked chest (or you could, too, and just let me know where it is). I also did some minor landscaping just to the west northwest of the new tower by connecting the stream/creek through. I didn't modify any buildings, just dug the bed and bucketed the water through so it would be more natural looking. I hope no one minds. ;D It's good to see we are still attracting new members, but I agree others that we may be reaching a point of advanced 'sprawl'. It would be nice to see the LLO core areas (the original desert) developed a bit more into an urban setting. The outlying rural areas and surrounding 'suburbs' (like Yeti and Jimbotown) are great, but are more like traveling to the next town rather than being just a part of a larger community. As defined by btribble's Great Wall, the LLO is a HUGE area, more like a county than a city, with all these different towns within. As tricky as it is to change things that other people did, we have to acknowledge at some point that many of the original builders of the 'downtown' (desert) have moved on and haven't been seen for a long time. Some of those areas are in a state of blight, and it would be nice to see some more aesthetically pleasing constructions take their place. I think the area could tolerate an increase in density, to more resemble a truly urban "inner city" environment.....without all the crime and gangs, of course. ;D I think it would be cool for tourists and residents alike to have all these wonderful suburbs and rural centers around a real 'skyscraper skyline' type city center. I understand this IS a major undertaking, and a lot of changes would need to be made to make it work, including rerouting roads and such, but it could be fun, and I think would be an improvement upon the community at large. Ugh, I just did the same thing as I did earlier this year... -.- Well, now that I've remembered, lets get going 368 days and 10 hours ago, I'd only had gold supporter for a week, the first big bridge has just been completed, and zulu9 could still connect. I was looking at the livemap and saw zulu9 on. I was planning my second big party to open the new bar, sadly zulu couldn't come but he had said that I could use his music discs. I decided to join thinking he was getting the music disks ready for me. I logged into Minecraft, and what came, was entirely unexpected... Once the world began to render, I heard the sound of fire, I looked around, expecting to see my house, but it wasn't there. In it's place was a massive wooden structure, burning to the ground. My immediate reaction was, for some reason "ZULU I NEED HELP!!!" Zulu then replied saying "The whole place is burning!" We both began searching around the LLO downtown area, almost every building was burning. Dwights building was almost non existent. Town hall was damaged, the floor was missing huge portions. The guesthouse was gutted and other buildings were damaged. It was obvious what had happened, the LLO had only had small ones, but this was big, it was a big griefing. But, zulu and I weren't the only people in the LLO at that time. Someone else was, MC_FTW_MC. We could see him in the jungle on the live map, and as we proceeded towards him, we could hear him in chat, saying "Test", with a few screenshots, I sent a PM to NurseKillJoy who was on not long afterwards, after looking around for less than two minutes, MC_FTW_MC was banned. And that, is the story of the LLO's massive griefing. And in that time, the LLO hasn't fully recovered, but it is still strong, with it's amazing community and it's 592 page long thread. I don't have a calculation as to exactly how much, but a guessimate would be.....around 60 full stacks(64) of glass(or the sand so I can make it), and now that I figure it out, I can probably get enough sandstone myself. I just know that I'd need to scour off a good bit of the sand around the neighborhood, and I don't know how well the neighbors (if they still come on; I'm still kinda miffed about the half sphere on a stick monstrosity that was erected without my approval right on my doorstep, and that building is one of the griefed, blighted ones that I haven't seen the owner on for a long time...anyway...) will take it. I wouldn't mind, IF people are OK with it, to strip the desert area down to the rock/sandstone base like I did in the lobby of Philo Tower, in preparation for an urban renewal project. Please give me some feedback on that one. ;D
I got 17 stacks sand just now, and that number increases as I get more sand from smp3's Wastelands...
Plopped a chest down underneath the walkway between the two towers. All I had was about 2 stacks of sandstone and 1 stack of sand.
jaari & shavingfoam, thank you so much. I probably won't need much more, as I'm finding a lot of sand around the towers that I could reclaim with a little creative landscaping. I like how things are shaping up. Right now, the basement is getting a bit bigger as I ran out of cobblestone on the final level. ;D

Wow. That is amazing. The view from that skybridge must be epic. Maybe (if you want to) put a pool or something there so people can safely skydive. Also I could not help but check it out on the livemap and I would like it to add it to the screenshots you posted.
Just read that and thought we must have a dozen great LLO stories to tell. I know we do because some people were so nice to share their experiences on this thread from time to time. So why not participate in that EMC wide thingy?
