We don't want to build path from spawn that's visible from the Live Map because we don't want to make it easy to griefers to get here. Someone started building the road you're talking about a long time ago, but stopped after we told him/her why we thought it wasn't a good idea. But yeah, the nether route is much quicker.
Ok, I've got some ideas of what you can study at the LLO University. Currently there are three Bachelors. Bachelor of Outpost Administration Majors in: Outpost Administration - Running an outpost, dealing with griefers etc. Outpost Design - Designing effective roadways and transport systems, plus some outpost administration. Bachelor of Engineering Majors in: Civil Engineering - Designing roadways and large structures. Building Design - Designing buildings. Bridge Building - Building awesome bridges. Transport Systems - Designing effective rail systems, horse roads and linking places together. Bachelor of Science Majors in: Plant Sciences - Studying plants in minecraft and how they grow. Animal Sciences - Studying passive and agressive mobs. Chemical Sciences - Brewing and water flow and things. Do people like the ideas?
You'd be a good person to teach that. I probably won't finalise who is teaching what until the University is close to opening.
SCNR But honestly I think this thread will live as long as there is an EMC. An I also think we do a pretty good job keeping the balance between staying on on topic and just be entertaining / mess around
Could I hold "class" in a PM, instead of in game, to make it easier? I would still have a class room, but it wouldn't be as important.
Why not? It should be up to the teacher what materials or communication channels he or she uses. I can imagine classes using some sort of chat (or things like our piratepad for example) too. EDIT / Disclaimer: Of course everything used should be openly accessible and free to use.
it would be kinda hard to get rid of those as we would need permission from the original builder. so yeah, I guess the "spiral steps of dooms" will stay. maybe a sign saying "spiral steps of dooms" next to them would be kinda fun. I don't think putting a sign up will be considered griefing at that location.
