  1. Hey, guys, I did not know what to write and I see a ton of misused words. I feel that it is not my right to teach some of you how to English. I will be updating this whenever I want. Please note that I am doing this as a beginners guide. Not every aspect will be covered!

    Part I: Coincidence and Irony
    This is a pretty easy lesson; I find it hard to believe that people do not know the difference.
    Irony - The opposite of expected.
    Example: A person spelling every word wrong except for the word illiterate during a test.

    Coincidence - Something you would expect to happen.
    Example: Batman and Bruce Wayne not being at the same place at the same time.

    Part II: You're and Your
    Before I begin this lesson, let's get some things straight: You are most likely using a computer on the forums, a computer with (most likely) a keyboard with every letter in the English alphabet you need. You have no excuse for typing ur instead of you're or your.

    You're = You are
    Example: You're a great guy!
    When you use this word, read it in your head as you are if you're not sure.

    Your: Showing possession over something.
    Example: Is that your dog?
    As you can see, you are asking if the dog belongs to the person.

    Part III: Punctuation
    Please refer to this picture
    If you prefer that I go over each one, please private message me. Other than that, I will begin working on my next lesson.

    Coming soon!
    -Homonyms
    -Capital letters (Please Do Not Type Like This)
    -Punctuation
    -Rhetorical and Literal
    -Incorrect phrases
    -Much and Many.

  5. As long as you don't start preaching about grammar I am fine with this. Since you are our English teacher am I to expect a lot of Shakespeare or are we going to be spared? >.<
  6. lol I don't really care when people use words they don't know the meaning of normally, they are usuallly just trying to look smarter or something. But when it is obvious and the sentence makes no sense I laugh at them (#sorrynotsorry)

  9. Very nice. However, where did you get your definitions for irony? They don't seem to totally encompass the usual meanings. :)

    Two households, both alike in dignity,
    In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
    From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
    Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
    From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
    A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
    Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
    Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
    The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
    And the continuance of their parents' rage,
    Which, but their children's end, nought could remove,
    Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
    The which if you with patient ears attend,
    What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.
    Wait until I complete my lessons. You should begin looking forward to the Stone Slable: Volume I.
    ¡Sí!
    Don't make me go through every one of your posts...
    I just searched up, I was making this as quick as I can. I used the DuckDuckGo search engine. I will try Dictionary.com now.

  11. Updated the post with some additional information. :)
  12. Well done. :D
    You may want to include definitions for literal and rhetorical since the meanings seem to have been lost between generations.
