Who exactly is this "U.S. government" and what do you believe they are trying to do? 1/2 of the current government is conservative leaning (the house =1/6 the Supreme Court = 1/3 together they equal 1/2). Almost all, if not all, conservatives are against Most gun regulations. Therefore, a government takeover would be a failure. Also, how do you explain Fox News? They lean really far to the right.
Guns are bad. You can have a gun to protect your family, a pistol or something maybe. But do you REALLY need to have an assault rifle in your home?
