It looks like I am going to make my goal of 300k this month and smash the last standing high score that I didn't have... I think, most mined in one month. Of course I can't go back in time and be the oldest miner or the one to have created the mine, hats off to those that hold that title. Thank you Azoundria for providing this mine, the awesome and coordinated effort that it has been to keep it running for so many years! Next month(september) I am probably not going to be mining nearly as much but I very well may add some more time helping Azoundria expand the mines and get more stations and portals put up, especially since he has provided a SUPER helpful spreadsheet tool to put the portals up with... and I have ruppees now to go buy obsidian with xD

If you would like to join then the application is on the first page of this thread. There is no required activity level, although I try to encourage all miners to mine at least once per week. (Should be 15 minutes to do a single run.) The membership includes one set of 3 pickaxes (fortune, silk, and a regular efficiency). Basic armour and supplies are included for free anytime you need them.
I only have 2 picks: "Soft diamonds" - Which has silktouch with efficiency V, unbreaking III and mending on it. "The 49'r" - Fortune III, efficiency V, unbreaking III and mending. Is that acceptable or do I need to have a 3rd pickaxe? (Both of these have served me quite well so far.)
I usually use a regular efficiency pickaxe since it's cheaper to replace once it runs out, meaning you make more money. Instead of mending, I use the XP to get loads of new pickaxes directly, although in your case with mending extra pickaxes are only useful if you die a horrible death in lava. Your method should work fine too so if you would rather use your pickaxes you already have, that's fine.

Just wanted to touch on the topic of the mending enchant. I didn't use mending for a long time after it was introduced to the game. Since I have started using it I have had the same 2 pickaxes, one silk and one fortune, for a very very long time. To take advantage of the mending without waste, I silk touch redstone ore and coal ore then I line it up in the hall after a run and repair everything I have on me. I have been keeping a stack of redstone ore in my echest just in case I get a few runs that I don't collect enough redstone/coal to get me back to completely undamaged on my armor and picks/shovel. IMPORTANT to note about mending, if you are wearing armor that has mending and they are not damaged then the experience you pick up will randomly select something you are wearing/holding to apply to. the undamaged armor will still be in that random pick and if it is allocated to something that is not damaged it will be absorbed as experience to your level and not repair anything. To make sure all the xp you collect goes towards repairing, remove anything that is not damaged as you go. This is why I silk touch the redstone and coal ore, in the main hallway you don't have to worry too much about not having armor on while you are repairing your tools, if you fortune those ores while you are mining then much of that experience will be put towards your level and not towards repairing your picks/shovel.
