  1. Maybe not. But did you read any other of my choice concerns? EMC needs a program that allows ALL applicants who meet a certain forum post count and days of active membership to be able to 'prove' themselves as worthy moderators before being chosen. You can't just have a 'bad feeling' about certain people and turn them away... you may be throwing away the BEST moderator EMC could have because one person isn't sure about them.

    any way one thing i have seen brought up i feel the need to defend is the whole issues on husband/wife mod teams. This only happens with both are deserving and is not always the case, infact you'll find that my wife is not a mod along side me. As for the picking process i dont claim to know it in full detail. but here thats why were here, if you feel the need to ask. do so and contradicting your self is not entirly helpful in this thread.

  8. Also, I heard NZScruffy is 11. I'm not entirely sure it's true, but if it were, why would we trust an 11 year old with the responsibilities that come with moderating a 'big' server like EMC?

    Again, I don't know if this is true and I highly doubt it is, but if it is, then...

  12. Just a heads up here, EVERY person affiliated with Joe in any other aspect outside of EMC, purposefully did not recommend him. Not to say that Joe did not deserve it. But we purposefully wanted to avoid this EXACT statement. So we can clearly and truly say, that Joe got his position on his own. Someone else, not involved in any OBAM happenings, or hanging out with him.

    I myself was accused in the whole "couple nepotism" thing.

    Being completely transparent here, the people that are close in real life to other staff practically become staff anyways. Before I was officially offered the position, I would basically text moose to investigate certain people etc based on what we see in the community. I was staff through text essentially and always tried to help moose when possible.

    While it may seem like it is a bias, it simply isn't. If that was the case, Deathtomb's wife would be moderator, as well as a few other significant others. While you may notice a few exceptions, it is not necessarily the rule/pattern.

    As for players that do not have an extensive history, I think it is even MORE impressive that they jumped into the "potential staff radar" so fast and for that they have to be some pretty magnanimous players. We have stated that we don't show bias for any reason, neither length of time spent here, nor age, nor supportership. Favoring older players would go against this practice. The people we chose were selected because of their ability to handle everyday situations that would normally cause drama.

    We chose who we chose for a reason. It is not a "pick a name out of a hat" sort of thing. We investigate each player extensively to make sure they will be a proper fit for the team. That being said, if you have any solid proof of why you believe a person is acting non-moderator material, please pm an admin about it. I can promise you that IceCreamcow will neither berate nor belittle you for your opinions.

    And if you are upset about not being chosen yourself, here's my story. I applied 9 MONTHS before being sent that particular invitation. I was passed up in the selection process 2 or 3 times before being selected. Just because you weren't selected this time doesn't mean we won't select you next time.

    I didn't say in the post above anything about him getting the promotion due to it (I've figured that out by now lol...) >.>
    Just that he is a part of OBAM o3o
