UFOS has started making plans to update a couple of it's cruisers/destroyers and is making plans for some new ones
Mr. Fletcher has been found and detained in New Foundland, Canada. He went on a ship, coming from Portugal when he was identified by State authorities where he was arrested. He is currently in National detainment and further action must be done. I don't know what to do with him tbh, but he's currently in UNAFR hands.
Steiner Manufacturing is dead. The trust has been annihilated by GAD Fines. They tried, and to some degree succeed (actually to great effectiveness) reduced the charges set against them. But, ultimately this was insufficient, as literally no one wanted to associate themselves with Steiner and promptly lose all of their customers in short order. GAD thinks "Good Riddance". Meanwhile, HMKX has proposed a ban on Biological Weapons, as Bioweapons can spread out of control and is generally cruel and ineffective at destroying only the enemy, while being very effective at causing large amounts of ecological devastation. Introducing the TO-5, the next Generation. The M1 Abrams has been upgraded continually, making it an effective opponent against the TO-4. (OOC: Based off T-90 a little, T-90 is painfully outdated design) A match for the M1, this thing incorporates ERA and many types of Protection to make it survivable, such as Jammers. 125mm of main gun and improvements compared to the IRL T-90 (focus on effectiveness in combat rather than cost-effectiveness, extreme design modifications). Thermal imaging was highly improved. Effectively, a match for the M1 Abrams. Unlike the TO-4, designed for massive battles, this Tank is much more for smaller operations and is an all-rounder. Also upgradeable and multifuel. The biggest charm though is its export models. The M1 has bad export models. The TO-5 has good ones.
He's an FRNS citizen. Both GAD and FRNS are going to want him. GAD says hand him over and the Death Penalty will not be applied, but that he will be imprisoned for life. It is likely he will be imprisoned in HMKX jails, notorious for suicides of Prisoners in the "For Corrupt People, unethical buisnesspeople, Rapists and Murderers" section. Karl Schmidt is still on the run, GAD wants FRNS to hand them over but FRNS isn't even bothering to respond. HMKX might just kidnap him themselves.
Yeah, he deserves prison for a long time, but not prolong torture and possible suicide. Regardless, UNAFR agents are shipping him back to FRNS, not because of the prison thing, but because he is a FRNS citizen and should be judged by his own people.
Regardless of what the UNAFR thinks, a FRNS criminal belongs in a FNRS prison, just like an HMKX citizen belongs in a HMKX prison etc. GAD can fight all they want to get him in their hands, but it isn't the UNAFR's problem anymore. Also, the UNAFR wants all UNAFR citizens who were arrested to return back home and reside in UNAFR Prisons.
On one condition. They serve out HMKX's prison sentences, not UNAFR's. They don't get retrials, and HMKX imprisoned them for a reason. They are in the "Good Section", which isn't so bad. There aren't any that are in the "Literal Hellhole" section. Only 1 FRNS citizen is in Prison in the Good part due to the Steiner Investigation. There are a lot more in other prisons, a lot in Vietnam and Iraq. They add up to about 300 people. HMKX has declared armed resistance and guerilla movements are by definition a violation of the rules of war, and reserve the right to use force to defend against it.
No prison sentence will change, they will keep their remaining time and will be sent in a federal prison under the same condition. Just bring them back home.
The UNAFR new Federal bill focuses a lot on City and Environment spending. A lot of cities within the UNAFR are going green, with many incorporating more parks and much more abundance of trees. Many big cities are becoming "Bike-Friendly" creating more bike lanes and Pedestrian walkways, while slowly getting rid of the overflow of vehicles. The process is long a gritty though, as it will take a long time to shift, although big UNAFR cities are looking to develop better subway and train systems to combat the car traffic problem. This also comes from the government's goal to lower car emissions. Main cities such as, Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle, Quebec City, Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, and even New York City are promoting the idea of ditching cars and by using bikes and the subway system to traverse across the cities. Many parks are popping up as well. By 2020 the government expects big cities like Toronto to be entirely pro-environment, with much more subway terminals, more bike lanes and more parks. By 2015, 92% of the entire country will be run under clean energy. Every logged site in the country that is not being used for residential, industrial or commercial areas is being replanted.
HMKX, finally rich enough to deploy, deploys Vakulenchuck to FRNS on a mission to intimidate them and to show their national might. HMKX has placed a large order for transportation and water infrastructure. They, with the new economic boost, have decided to repair some of their old infrastructure. Most of the roads were built in the 50s and 60s, now they are in repair. The Economy's looking up, infra-oh crap! Terrorists bombed the UNAFR embassy in Israel. Or tried, the Palestinian Authorities were on their tail and tipped off Israeli Police when they entered Israel. They only detonated 1 pipe bomb before being stopped, killing no one but injuring 8. 1 is in critical condition. They tried to pull out an AK-47, but were quickly tackled. The Israeli police have confirmed the AK-47s have too many unique traits such as materials to be of HMKX construction, but might be the work of an independent gunsmith. Iranians and Syrians, although they were probably not state-sponsored. However, it shows Iran and Syria's hostile attitude to Israel. Iran, particularly is unstable because of an ongoing Kurdish insurgency backed by HMKX, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Further investigation is being put into this and all UNAFR government and commercial buildings were put on lockdown and heavily guarded by a paramilitary force. The President acknowledges the acts of the Palestine Authorities who were trying to stop them, and thanks them for their actions. No other words were said, except that the situation is being investigated by the International Intelligence Agency (basically like an FBI but outside of the country)

The Empire is continuing to overhaul its infrastructure. They are starting to plan a project to reduce the Gobi Desert in size via tree planting and the such. Meanwhile, the E-4-V2 is introduced. It's clunky, incorporating the Chassis of the E-4 in newer computerized systems. It's expensive, and there are malfunctions. It nearly crashed twice in its introduction, and it was apparently delayed a year. The Pilot survived, fortunately. Boasting formidable stealth capabilities, apparently this "advanced stealth program" failed to function. Its Radars broke down halfway in flight. It looks... almost staged. Too unlucky, especially when intelligence suggests they've been tweaking it for years now. Word is, it's been rushed into production. HMKX has covered it up, but it's already leaked. This is a Global Embarassment, with State Media blasting HMKX's Jet Designers for incompetence. This is exactly what HMKX wanted. In a field somewhere, a Jet Fighter flies around and does its job. It malfunctions, it has problems. Some people are skeptical. Secret tests for the E-4V2. But it is an effective proof of concept. It displays capabilities that have no precedent, being highly stealthy with LPIR. and having a high-performance Airframe. The E-4V2 works. HMKX has not yet ordered any units. They wait for the World's reaction. Besides, they aren't going to order much anyway. They only need to order enough to see if they work. The E-5's prototypes sit in a garage, waiting for their time.

GAD has demanded the extradition of Noah Fletcher, CFO of Steiner Manufacturing from FRNS for trial, as well as the extradition of Karl Schmidt, CEO of Steiner Manufacturing from FRNS for trial. It is of note multiple countries wants Schmidt's head in a basket, and that public opinion in Vietnam and Kazakhstan lean toward Execution heavily. They are both FRNS citizens, and Schmidt and Fletcher are both in hiding. Opinion against Fletcher has cooled as evidence has emerged he was not responsible, nor was he aware of the egregious violations of laws and ethics. Schmidt is currently one of the most hated men on the planet. HMKX sails Genghis Khan with a light task force to the Persian Gulf, to intimidate Iran and reassure Saudi Arabia that HMKX has their back. The Supercarrier will then sail to a practice range owned by the Empire to bomb things. Very British-looking things, as well as the very British Food Import Boats. These are all on a small scale, which indicates HMKX isn't looking for a fight. The Empire, in these good times has decided to fund a bunch of scientists. Quantum Scientists.
The Empire's funding of Scientists have gone to the Areas of such: Computers, Space Travel, Medicine and Quantum Mechanics instead of things like the military. The Military's had their fun. HMKX has suffered severe delays on putting a man on the moon. Now, with the new technology, HMKX has launched a Rocket at it. They were quite successful, planting a specially designed flag that would not fade with time onto the moon. HMKX has advanced the development of the home computer and other types of processors. Computers are the future. Medicine, after HMKX's plague has become quite important. Vaccines, Medicine, and the such are gaining steam in a world where Plague is still a painful memory. Everybody is getting subsidies, times are good for science. But this is the thing grabbing all the Headlines. People of the World, meet the Heavy Hadron Collider. With total 25TeV energy at 12.5 TeV (TeraelectronVolts) per Proton Beam, this monstrosity is expected to be a game-changer in particle physics. It will probably undergo upgrades through its service life, and is built to be able to be upgraded. OOC: The upper ceiling with a bit of jury-rigging is 50-60 TeV. Being able to collide Protons to Protons as well as Heavy Ions, and some Electron-Electron collision capabilities as well, with 9 detectors and 5 main detectors. 3 of the main detectors are General-Purpose. The other 2 are specialized. With many preaccelerators, this thing will discover new physics, just one waits. It is heavily advertised as a facility to Herald a new Era of Physics. HMKX state media won't shut up about it. Effectively, it is a statement that HMKX is doing so well it can fund pet projects like this.
