  1. Ok... What does moderating mean then?
  2. Remaining a neutral party in bias arguments, ensuring that set guidelines are being upheld. Correcting those who break the rules.

Honestly though, if you really have to ask what the job does, you may not be ready to apply for it. One should not apply for a job they do not understand.

  3. Wise words by ISMOOCH.
  4. Hey I'm just going to go apply to be a polic woman, but I don't know how to work a gun or drive a car, or the law in general.

  5. Words by iSMOOCH are always wise.
  6. In the UK that would only apply to the law.
The police can be in passenger seats and don't need to drive. Ever.
They don't use guns, with the exception of the rarely-used tazer guns.
They only need to have no criminal record and a basic understanding of how the law works.
  7. What if someone hacks into creative mode and u dont know u just think hes super rich?

  9. It's not possible to hack into creative mode unless you're an Admin who would use the perk for good - not to become rich.

  10. So I'm pretty much a police officer?
  11. AKA everything he says.
  12. Pretty much, except you should enjoy the job at least a little because it's voluntary... :)
  13. Wish me luck.
  14. Good luck! :D

  16. No need to brag. May I ask how old you are?
  17. Lol this brought up so much random talk. So may the best moderator win i guess...
  18. There's no such thing as an "adult reading level" or a "college reading level"

You can read books targeted at those audiences, but there's no "line" for reading as everybody is different when it comes to it. With math, everybody has to do the same to get the right answer. Nobody can tell you that you read wrong. You may read slow, but that doesn't make you a worse reader. Not to mention a majority of the "tests" that measure the capability of someones reading require them to read out loud, which a lot of people, including myself, are less adept at. I can read perfectly fine in my head, but I struggle a little bit reading out loud.

You can measure someones comprehensiveness of literature, but that's also a different subject as it's not just reading, and again, people absorb things differently. Reading out loud also hinders your ability to focus on what you are actually reading as you are paying more attention to the words than what they actually are forming together, but this also varies person to person.

Plenty of people are told they "read at a higher level" but with no "average line" there's no way to compare. Everyone's brain is hardwired differently, so it's unlikely you could determine that.

    tl;dr

There are too many factors in "reading" to determine whether someone is really a "more advanced reader."

  19. I hate reading out loud! It's annoying! I love reading quietly though ^_^ Although, sometimes when people are reading quietly under their breath, I kind of get this face...

  20. I guess this thread was created to see who would talk about their application or them wanting to be a moderator :p
