Bias is one thing of course but the real problems start when people draw a certain conclusion from the results while ignoring other possibilities entirely. Also: it makes a huge difference if you realize that you might be biased and try to work around that or simply deny the fact entirely because "the rules prevent this from happening". Because, fun fact: they don't. Small example: "People spend a lot more on Christmas presents this year so the economy (personal wealth) is going a lot better". That's one conclusion drawn from the fact that more money was spent. Of course ignoring the other possibility: the prices between last year and this year also went up and so people are more or less forced to spend more money on the same amount of items. Leading up to: how many presents were actually purchased? That detail is often left out and it's the #1 problem with surveys. (edit): Surveys and data interpretation as a whole.
The survey is now closed. A copy of the spread sheet has been sent off to Krysyy. As some of you have asked, I will release the results to you guys, but only the final ratings. THE RESULTS: EMC's Overall Performance: 7.7 (Average Score) Rule Enforcement: 6.8 (Average Score) Most Liked About EMC: Community, Staff Run Events, The Forums, Promos. Least Liked About EMC: Slow Updates, Staff only listening to half the problems story/staff and player communications, Drama, Staff+ picking favorite players, Immature/Useless rules. Staff Performance: Fair to Excellent New Event Suggestions: More mob arena type events, "find that chest" like for the holidays, New event times for players in other countries, so they are able to attend. Remember, you, as the community made these results, I have not altered them in any way, shape, or form. This is purely what the community responded with. If you have any questions about this survey or the results, please Private Message me. Thank you.
How did you compile these? Are these all of the results, or just the most common ones? I ask because the thing I listed isn't in there lol.
I would presume that he just listed several of the different responses. There isn't weight associated with each of them, so this doesn't mean that the average player listed these necessarily. But at least someone listed it. Sounds like he sent the unedited, or at least name stripped version to Krysyy. So the original data should give a better picture. I know I have heard each of those items as a criticism from various players. Some are not "common", but that does not make them any less relevant. One should use it as a self-reflective practice. Note: Guessing on this response ^. I have no further insight than anyone else.
