I'm not big on Mercedes myself, but this one looks nice, I like some of the older ones! Have you had it long? Feel free to post about it here anytime! After all, this thread is all about Car Love!
Next up on The Car Love Thread, we have the Ford Escort Mk2. My dad owned this car as his first and well, it wasn't the best, but it was a good car. There was rust, there was water getting into the car, but my dad still used it and loved it. That's the thing about car love, it's not only based on the looks, but the feel you get from it and so much more. The Ford Escort Mk2 was a big car in the rally scene decades ago and many still race in rallies today. They were a popular car back in the day and ones now are sought after and can fetch big prices if they are in pristine condition. Here's a picture of a Mk2 (this is not my photo but I have actually seen this exact Escort at my local race track many times and it's a light little drift car):
My Dream Car: A Porsche. But not the expensive modern Porsche, more like the kind you get on Auto Trader for $5k. For example, this 944. The aftermarket wheels on this specimen are perfect, and the paint; both the color and the quality of the German craftsman ship. Not to mention the retro pop up headlamps and the highly modifiable 2.0L I4 in the front delivering power to the rear wheels. A car that isn't a true Porsche, but is a true German sports car (But the fact it is a Porsche is nice )
The Porsche 944! Definitely my favourite Porsche, closely followed by the 924. Lovely cars and the pop up headlights are definitely a neat touch!
The new Ferrari 488 GTB was shown off at Geneva earlier this year, I'm not sure if I have fallen for its looks. I'm sure they can do better... What do you guys think of it?
I know I said that the Porsche 944 was definitely my favourite Porsche, but I almost forgot, the Porsche 959. This, this is the best Porsche out there 944 is still great though! 959: The 959 was made in very limited numbers, I think around 300 made, but this one shown is even more special, it is one of only 29 made, the 959S (sport package) with complete roll cage. Very rare cars!
Mustang Shelby GT500, you really can't go wrong with them! I had one on Forza 4, it was a violently sounding car. After tuning, it was an absolute maniac around the track, and sounded very, very violent! Mustangs seem to be really good for tuning, there's a lot of space, so there can be a lot of power. Great cars!
So I'm a tad concerned to how no-one has included this beauty of a modern machine, I'm in love with the LaFerarri On a second note, the car I'd probably like when I'm older would be a Jaguar XF
I miss my 240sx's so much. a 89 coupe and a 91 fastback. My dad totaled my 300zx twin turbo which is identical to the fairlady(but for some reason the fairlady is worth more but not turbo, and thus slower? there has to be a reason besides just the name... perhaps not) I am driving a sentra right now, which would be epic except its not a v-spec so its basically a nissan version of a focus. the car I WANT SO BAD right now is basically hyundais version of the the 300zx imho. I hate the new body styles which look like civics and wish they would have stuck with the first generation body style. without further ado, the genesis: Edit: drove a 2008 shelby, sounded and looked like a sports car, felt like driving an impala... not my idea of fun.
AND THERE IT IS. THERE IT FREAKING IS. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH okay... i'll contain myself. ignore me.
The first car I can remember is the Volvo Amazon Station. (not our car, but the same model and colour) I don't remember very much about it, because we sold it when I was still pretty young. This car has definitely meant much to me, though. Occasionally, when we had left our Volvo at a public parking space or something, we would come back to it and find a letter stuck under the wiper: "If you'd ever want to part of this wonderful car, please contact ..." or something like that ^.^ We didn't contact any of them though, because we just sold it to the highest bidder when we didn't want it anymore. Later my dad found our car back on the internet, and it had been completely disassembled I wonder what happened to it after that. I hope the new owner renovated it or something, instead of having it destroyed.
It's a beauty <3_<3 Lovely car! Not many of those around here. As for if it is still alive or not, you can probably use some kind of number plate checker to see if the vehicle is alive under that plate, that's your best bet. In Britain we have something called DVLA where we can check any number plate and it will tell us the state of the car e.g. my dad's MG Midget that he sold a while ago is dark purple, it has no MOT and it is currently SORN. Perhaps you may be able to find out with something like that! Noice. I'm jelly, please make him give it to me, thanks! xD
