I see why many people complained about mob arena though, some others have more opportunities to make and gather better resources than others and unexperienced players getting angry when they lose what they think is good gear. I don't consider myself good at mob arena at all but I see why some people complain but begging can easily be fixed by /ignore or /chat off it bothers you that much..
We had already decided to take this action before you arrived. This was part of the reason we decided to not have any more additional rounds (we already had 4 or 5 rounds done). You saying we were not abiding by the mob arena rules only strengthened our belief that we were making the right decision. I will gratefully accept your apology and hope everyone is as understanding as yourself. You done nothing wrong. You mentioned once in chat you would need to leave soon and then, despite being in a very strong position, you left with no complaints when you dinner arrived. I hope that pizza was yummy, bet it was the first time you wished your pizza would be late. You were understandably upset because you thought you had won but were unaware the winner is the last man standing after the mobs had been cleared during the end of month sword event. These additional conditions are in the first post of the mob arena thread. Your chat was not an issue but others who were backing you up were, you have nothing to apologise for. I am please to see that all the posts have been supportive of our decision, I was expecting some negative reactions. Hopefully if and when the mob arena returns it will be fun again for all.
Staff is doing the right thing in my opinion If its more trouble for them than it is fun then why let it dominate their time Thanks for all your hard work and hopefully the next event you choose to host is more like fun I have noticed that there is a huge range of ages and maturity (clearly they are not the same) of the people on EMC Creating special events we must consider the lowest common denominator. That doesn't mean that events can't happen but limitations of who and how many can participate might be necessary. Last night I attended a huge drop party. I noticed that the quality of play was very poor at 200 players. Once the number got down to about 130 I could actually see what was going on and play a little in spite of a lot of lag. This might be something to consider in the future planning Since members can join regardless of server cap it would seem that keeping it smaller and more playable for paid members could improve overall play I love playing on EMC but I expect supporters to get preferential treatment because its their money that keeps EMC stable Thanks for everything and try not to get discouraged too much by a few kids with no manners
Well... I used to attend mob arena without armor, equipped with a stick just for the fun. I'm sad that there are people who felt too serious about it and then got dissapointed or felt envy for the winner. They should understand it's just a game, not a competition.
I really liked this event and I hope it be reopened. I just loved the mob arena when people would shout out to Davie or Jack "Set a wither on them" I just laughed. It was such good fun. Maybe it could be opened under new rules that if you start getting mad and angry your expelled out of mob arena forever or some other rule could be placed. I understand what Max and Davie has said but I hope they can resolve this problem and I know many people will agree with me about that it should be re opened under new rules.

I personally have yet to compete in the MA but it looks like fun. I live on SMP5 so I see all those who come and battle in the arena and I know a lot of players that LOVE it and have fun dying errr.. fighting in it. With that said.. My 2-cents would simply to have rules posted about begging, complaining, etc. if someone violates the rules for a MA, ban them for an hour or however long the MA lasts. Problem potentially solved. If they continue to violate and become annoying, perma-ban. Problem completely solved.
Good on you guys (the mods) Mob arena is only enjoyable when everyone is having fun. The mob arena (by no fault of the mods) became ridiculously competitive to the point where people were begging with winners for items. Winners should be told "Well done" by everyone who unfortunately didn't manage to win, instead it became "Give me stuff for nothing" - A sense of entitlement that ruined the fun for everyone else. Just ma 2 cents on the whole thing
I love the Mob Arena! I was a winner once, it was my first (and only) time I won, I felt so good! There were a lot of players who begged me for prizes. Myself never begged for prizes, I only waited to see what was left in the Winner's Room. I was kind enough to leave some good prizes to them, and they thanked me. I felt good that I did that, but I agree that the Mob Arena is about having fun and that the winner is the winner, and they get the prizes. It is still sad that the Mob Arena will be shut down for a while because every Monday, I always go! I love the Mob Arena!
I am sad to see it leave, but it is a good decision on the staff's part to cancel it until some people can get their act together. But it's disappointing to hear that the few have ruined it for the many. This happens so much in real life and it gets annoying and now it's happening in video games.
