Ok. First thing you will need to do is download a 1.4.7 jar file from the internet. After thats done in your start menu search %appdata% and click on .minecraft i believe. Next go to the bin folder under .minecraft and drag the file you dowloaded from the internet into that folder. Next rename your current jar file that will be called minecraft.jar to something like minecraft 1.5.jar and then rename the file you dragged in minecraft.jar that should fix the problem. Hopefully this makes sense and isn't just a big long paragraph of random words.

Instead of downloading a file that is probably filled with viruses or illegally downloading the real .jar, just read this http://empireminecraft.com/threads/accidentally-updated-read-this.5604/#post-70918.

The policy which allows player,who have been gone for more than 10 days, have there res's reset is suspended during updates. So you're safe. =)
