That sounds amazing, thanks for the pictures. Really nice that you were able to perform with a live orchestra and choir!! I think that can have a big impact on the overall experience. And I'm glad to hear your arm recovered! Any idea what happened? Well, I know mishaps can easily happen while tidying up.
Hello all! I just wanted to share this video with you. It is a fun tour of the San Francisco Ballet's shoe room!
Rest in Peace to one of my favorite ballerinas, Michaela DePrince. https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2024/sep/13/michaela-mabinty-deprince-ballerina-dies I read her book, "Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina" and I would highly recommend it to anybody interested in a great piece of dance history. I never got to meet her, but I have been fortunate enough to dance with other professional ballet dancers from Dance Theatre of Harlem, the company she was in. They were insanely incredible, and I can't even imagine how cool it would have been to see her dance in-person considering she's the youngest ballerina in that company's history.
Hello all! This past week I've performed in two dance recitals and four Nutcracker shows! It has been super exhausting, but also a lot of fun. We had a live orchestra again this year and we were joined by a professional ballerina and another company from a different part of the state! I also had the honor this year of designing all of the graphics used to advertise the show, including the poster, Instagram/Facebook posts and banners, billboards, the program, and more! This was my 9th year performing in The Nutcracker, and I danced in the roles of Marzipan and Flower. Marzipan: Flower: I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
