Okay, I ran some more tests to be a littler more accurate. Again, these are my PC specs: Asus ROG GL702VI Laptop(GPU: GTX 1080/ CPU: i7-7700hq/ RAM: 16Gb with 8Gb allocated to Minecraft) I ran three separate tests. These tests were just basic tests. I generated a fresh Minecraft world in 1.12.2, and did not move from the spawn location. I waited 5 minutes in each version in order to let the world do it's thing before taking down my FPS readings. The Video Settings I used in these test are here: Minecraft 1.12.2 FPS: 412 Allocated Memory Usage: 1-6% CPU Usage: 22% GPU Usage: 45% Minecraft 1.12.2 with Optifine FPS: 995 Allocated Memory Usage: 1-3% CPU Usage: 23% GPU Usage: 46% Minecraft 1.13 FPS: 607 Allocated Memory Usage: 5-19% CPU Usage: 21% GPU Usage: 43% As noted above, these tests can be done much more thoroughly and will greatly vary when on the EMC server, but it seemed the tests were best suited for single player as there are no outside variable that could effect the tests done. In conclusion, it seems Mineccraft 1.13 definitely has a nice FPS boost, although it does use a bit more memory. I imagine once Optifine is out for 1.13 the FPS increase will be outstanding. I hope this helps people in some way.
I think you all are missing a variable for optifine, its not just for fps boosting... It's for HD textures which can support 32x32 bit and above which I like to use. I imagine that 1.13 doesn't have HD texture support unless I missed something in the change log of minecraft
Way stoked for 1.13 to come to EMC. The turtles are WAY cute! I actually donate monthly to save the sea turtles! I just adore marine life. Plus I guess that being an Aquarius as well AND the Navy veteran I am I kind of have a soft spot for these animals! Good job to our Dev team! You guys are AMAZING! Keep up the fabulous work!!!
When we're certain that it's not going to break the last 7+ years of EMC code. The developers have been steadily knocking out bits and pieces of the changes necessary. 1.13.2 was just released, so I'm sure that will help with stability.
Well getting back to mods for a sec I suspect that 1.14 will release before the end of the year and but at this rate of waiting (I'm using mods as fast as I can to get my projects done) we will probably update with a month or two to wait before these get updated And dose anyone have any clue on how to update a mod? IDK on how to do it Sorry dev or aliker soz for being mean
I'm sure you get these types of questions a lot, but how does the dev team code the server for these types of updates? What kinds of problems have they encountered when modifying the server mechanics to work with 1.13? I'm sure its an extremely difficult process since 1.13 changed so much, and great job everyone on the team for your hard work
Dinnerbone on Twitter cleared up a lot of confusion about 1.14 from Minecon. Minecraft 1.14 (Java) is "Village and Pillage." This update is set to release in early 2019; snapshots are starting this Wednesday. There are no plans for a Holiday Update on the Java edition this year; that is for Bedrock only.
One of the reasons the 1.13 update has been a huge stopper on a lot of servers - until this fix, half the contents in chests, when changing world versions, near chunk borders were deleted: https://bugs.mojang.com/plugins/servlet/mobile#issue/MC-134115
lol love kicking up dust but i wish we could get a countdown for 1.13 on emc instead of that poetry thing lol
