  1. I want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has come out to clean up this griefing. You all rock!
This was not a run of the mill grief. Multiple large buildings and locations were covered in cobble, floors were destroyed, roads were damaged, roofs were damaged, etc. This included the Cathedral which is something of an EMC landmark for marriages.
When I logged out last night, the worst of it was taken care of, but there may be more we hadn't seen yet. Additionally, there was still a good bit of detail repair work to do. Builds missing pieces of the wall, roof, floors, roads, etc. Dirt and wood griefer access paths also.
GRIP, FCC, PWU, smp8, and the EMC community at large all came together to repair this mess in record time. Thank you all so much for being so awesome.

I will be on later today to see if anything still needs to be mopped up out there. BurgerKnight and EvilToade were out there with a large crew of people when I left last night. There were so many people who showed up and helped that there's no way for me to remember everyone's name. Off the top of my head, Shell and Fate were out there for nearly 12 hours working on it. There were many more too. Thank you guys so much <3
  2. Was just out there again this morning for an hour. Currently taking a break to mend my pics soI can start again.
  3. First... As shared in private first I want to say that I am heavily impressed. For the record: I severely underestimated the PWU crew and I have no problem to admit that. What happened last evening was plain out impressive. RunderK & me started working on one building and as soon as we got the ornament on it cleared up we got more people coming over (north and south got hit) and when we more or less managed to clear out one building dozens of others had been cleared out as well, including the roads.

GRIP & FCC aren't leaving it here (so I hope anyway). I'm planning to do some intensive maintenance checks to see if there are still things open to improvement or repair. For example: I noticed sections on roads which got covered with another wood type slab. Perfect for quick repairs (we needed horses for speed) but it needs to be replaced eventually (GRIP will supply materials 'no questions asked' for this when needed). I'll be looking out for that & gathering the right materials and if needed request permission to replace.

    But this was impressive.

I also want to explicitly thank the staff, JDHallows & BurgerKnight in particular. JD because Runder, Aya & me kept bugging him and he helped immensely and BK because he fell in the middle of sheer griefing chaos and had all that to sort out while half the server was waiting for him to 'do' something (no pressure there at all :D).

And those griefers... Well, all you basically established was tightening an already tight community and gave some players something to do as well.

  4. I'm blessed with many fabulous people putting up with my crazy. Plus, we've had practice Shell. Lots and lots of practice LOL. Thanks :)

Ditto on thanks to the staff. I live to volunteer BK for projects ;)
  5. it is actually very easy to do..... it most likely judging from the size of the cobble monsters about 6-12 buckets to grief the whole thing 0-0 + whatever they used to get a full cover of the cathedral and tower roof this is something not protected by anti grief i actually tested it with my alts little afk shack most basic griefers do this at least they did not tree it as well or cannon it to a heap of rubble u are lucky XD very lucky atleast it was not worse....

EDIT: the grief is about 2 weeks old maybe 3 I had hash deal with the initial part about 2 weeks ago and he said it had already been dealt with. I did not notice the end tower tho i almost never look at it.... ( is busy in 160k XD) i wish i could do more to help with issues like this but it is a pain to make the 2 hours walk there and back (without dyeing)

  6. If Schlaf82 wants some help rebuilding that huge Sandstone building just let me know and I can help. I'm not sure if Sandstone and Smooth Sandstone is protected via anti-griefing but the stone bricks are.

I placed some stone slabs down to help against mob spawning but I can remove them if they are unwanted.

  7. Sandstone, or at the very least smooth sandstone is protected by anti-griefing, even without /buildmode. It was in one of the updated protected blocks lists. However, even if regular sandstone is not protect; it can always be protected with build mode, which protects one's common blocks.

  9. I have a idea for a Guardian statue For the North builds i can branch it off from the main horse trail
If I Have time I could do a statue for the grinders Can I do this?

  10. Thanks! That's actually not Schlaf's. Not sure who built that one.

  11. Show me where first please so I can make sure you won't be in the way of where something is already going to go in the future. As long you light it up or slab/glass it (no spawns on it), I am good with this. Sounds great, thank you!

  12. the stone bricks at the bottom were placed by Schlaf because I tried to break them and they were protected by him

  13. What if Schlaf had gotten an alt to bury his own place in cobble. Kinda like an artist painting over an old painting. Classic.....
  14. Im thinking about Branching it of where the road turns to go to the sushi drop and the end of the trail to the grinders.

  15. So can I go ahead?

  16. So long as it's not on the Fe(II) side, you are clear around there. I'd suggest around the horse stables along the side of the road is a good spot.
The Grinders one is a little more tricky because there is future stuff for around there. Set it back along the existing road on the east side.

EDIT: Yes, so long as you follow what I've laid out here and in the past regarding no spawning mobs, you're a go.

  17. Do you have oak logs for the road I could use?

  18. I Kinda want to follow the style of the road Ill need birch fences and oak logs

  19. It's funny, really.

I was the one who actually saw the griefing in action, I was there. I reported it to staff and got the guy banned.
  20. then he'll soon report all of u for removing the cobble and smp8 will get a whole lot more quiet ^.^
