Fe(11) smp8 Public Wild Utilities Iron Farm

  1. No idea. Why I'm trying to figure out why in the world I'd want to support yet another location with enchant table and bookshelves. Don't think it's needed there at all IMO.
  2. For some reason I dragged the folder into my saves file and it isn't working (I dragged the folder inside the ZIP folder BTW)
  3. We're down to the 4 underground units left to build, the drop guides, the transport tubes, the kill area, the transport for players, and the amenities. Woot! Huge thanks to everyone, you all rock <3

    Next steps -
    4 underground units.
Mine/dig out all blocks 5 blocks in front and above doors (the dry areas outside of square).
Finish adding drop guides for golems so they don't take fall damage on way down.

  4. Just put the whole folder inside, I don't think you need to extract it.
  5. There's a FOLDER inside the ZIP folder, so I drag the FOLDER inside the ZIP folder to my SAVES FOLDER. I never extracted it. Also I don't drag the ZIP file to my saves, all the saves I have right now are not in ZIP files.

(Sorry for caps, I use caps to reach a point and NOT yell. See how that works?)
  6. Could you not type so loud? I just woke up :/

  7. No, I mean put the zip folder in the saves folder.
  8. What is the Y-Level the cells have to be built at?
    EDIT: 36?
  9. It shouldn't need it. :p At the very least, it might need a medium-sized food farm to regenerate hunger over sword/weapon swings, but other amenities aren't really required, imo. :D (Iron Golems don't drop any XP, regardless of how they're killed. Source)

That being said, I am 100% aware that adding another villager anywhere will completely mess things up for this (or any) iron farm design, so I (quite obviously) choose not to. <.<

However, someone mentioned before the addition of a few animals to the farm (for food or otherwise). I agree with this idea. c:

  10. Correct, 36 and the areas are already carved out for the units (thanks corrupted and rd!).
We have not cleared the 5 spaces in front of the doors and up to air yet, just removed the water above that area.

    Thanks Toto!

EDIT: Just to be extra crystal clear, when you do F3 and look at the bottom unit's base floor, those blocks should have 36 in your "Looking At" coordinates.
  11. OK, good, I've done it right :D
    Almost finished the SE cell.
EDIT: Moving onto carving out the door space.

  12. Thanks Toto! :D
  13. Still not working
  14. Dragging the folder inside the ZIP archive into the saves folder is what you are supposed to do to get the save to show up in your singleplayer worlds. Just dragging the ZIP file into the saves folder won't do anything because there is an extra folder inside the archive (the folder you need to drag out). You said you've already done that, so I don't know what you're doing wrong.
  15. I have to give a huge shout out of thanks to Toto, WitherTheRuler, HxCami10, Monkeyrancher, ChumMiner, PeculiarPotato, GeneralWillikers, MrCDub, corruptedsmile, and rdmaster for absolutely killing it out there on this build. Phenomenal amount of work done in so short a period of time. Thank you all so much! We're about 80% done on the technical build side of things.

Also a huge thank you to Jadzia for naming all those carts and helping out. THANK YOU!

  16. 80% done already!? O_O Geez, and it's only like, what: 20 more days before we open this iron farm? :D

On a side note: Good thing Jadz had lots of levels to spare for those minecarts. O: (And good thing I hauled out the anvils for 'er xD)

Just about to start one the next cell.
EDIT: Finished the cell itself, starting on carving out the light shafts for doors.
