  1. The buffs selection is broken. Just relog and try again until it works...

  2. I'm not 100 percent sure because people always add to the minecarts on the rail (thank you by the way), but it seems the amount of minecarts has dropped since this grief.

I will be tagging minecarts to try and keep better track of the numbers. If anyone feels like using their own minecarts, they are encouraged to rename and lock them up. For future donators, there will likely be a place to replace carts in the future with a hopper and locked chest (so that carts go in, not out).

I think the rail and entrances should be open, as Sushi Drop and the grinders are public utilities and meant for everyone on SMP8 to use freely. As for any changes that may be made to help alleviate supplies and taxing everyone with donations to replace griefs....well. I can't say here what my ideas are. Those are not so public.

Thank you to everyone reporting the griefs and furnishing supplies!

  3. MrCDub saved the day! Special thanks to shyguythegamer1 for donating a beacon, khixan for helping with supplies and fire res potions for the critical beacon lava trip, ElfinPineapple0 for putting up with me lol, and MrCDub for helping me figure out the last piece of the puzzle and choosing the colors :). After many hours of planning, gathering, head banging in frustration, a dc or more of iron ingots, 4 beacons, 4 signs, lots of dirt, nether brick, colored glass, 4000r for the locks, digging to the top of the world, many MANY dead nether hounds, many deaths in lava, and my sanity, the nether farms is now more user friendly! Speed 2, resistance 2, strength 2, regen and jump 1 throughout most of the farm! Makes a 6 feel like 5 and a 5 like a 1 in terms of difficulty. Below images are first light, and how it looks on the farm now. Maybe someone else can post pics, I'm exhausted now.
  4. Wow Pepper! Amazing!

  5. You did good pepper, Also I had to go to dinner during me fighting the wither, and when I got back it is still in, I got the star after dying 5 times, and I had to destroy the bed at the nether farm to suicide to spawn. Sorry for any inconvenience that caused...

  6. To all of the builders of all the utilities:

The builders of the cave spider/zombie grinders:

    The builders of Sushi drop:

The builders of slime time: (only good one I can find)

    The builders of squid DOOM:

The builders of nether hunting grounds:

HUGE thanks to the builders of all of these grinders and utilities, the next one I hope is going to be BIGGER and better! And if I missed anyone on here than I can be sent on a wild goose chase to make the photos again and publish them. Thank you all! Thanks and cheers,

  12. Sorry this is kinda late, but I made a modification to the enchanting area after getting the OK from AverageWalrus:

(be sure to click the picture for full view)

Anyway, the dispenser is locked so someone can't steal all the Lapis at once.
The only 3 people with access to the dispenser are me, AverageWalrus, and khixan.

If you can't read the signs, basically it says not to take all of it etc etc
and that the redstone lamp above indicates whether or not there's any Lapis left.
    (Off=empty, On=at least 1 piece of Lapis)

    By the way, that gravel block isn't supposed to be there. I think I removed it already but I don't remember. I just had it there temporarily because I needed a soft block as a sort of step ladder to set up the mechanism for the dispenser. ^^;

Anyway, enjoy -- hopefully this reduces the need to constantly restock chests that griefers and theives will find all too easy to hog for themselves.

Best part is: when pressing the button, the lapis falls straight towards you! :D
  13. *Created a thread here: http://empireminecraft.com/threads/needsfoodbadlys-public-farm-get-yer-grub-on.56137/

I just completed a public farm build directly south of Wild South. It's a short distance south, outside of the protected area. Just walk south until you leave the protected area and see the cobblestone path/wall.

I've only been on EMC a little over a month and I built this out of pocket without donations. Almost all of the resources I mined, harvested and crafted myself. I know it's not a wonder of the world or anything but hey...free food!

It currently boasts: 4 wheat fields, 2 carrot fields, 2 potato fields, 2 melon fields, 2 pumpkin fields, a birch tree farm, 1 zombie grinder, protected/lighted wall, a water well, a small farmhouse with public storage/bed/crafting/furnaces.

I'm currently working on a crop expansion and a stables/animal pens expansion, if anyone stops by and has some spare dirt and wants to help, you can fill in the floor in the stable/animal pens, walled off area to the right of the central farm. Once the second crop field is finished, I'll remove the back wall to join the first crop field. The stables/animal pens will remain walled off with a connecting path.

Currently, this is a simple manual farm. Because the wild is prone to griefing I'm holding off the redstone/automatic farming mechanisms and making monolithic piston-farming towers.

All chests are public access, take/give freely. Just follow the "Green Rule." Please replant after harvesting.

Comments, questions, suggestions, complaints, etc. all welcome.

  15. Also: and I may be giving away a trade secret here, but you know you can stop by the zombie grinders via rail, knock off a few zombies, and then take the flesh over to the villager trading post at Sushi Drop and just -trade- for emeralds and lapis, right?
