  1. I also, like, someone else said in a previous comment, have had several vision tests for my field(aviation) and have never had a problem distinguishing colors but I see gold white no matter how the picture is altered. I have seen the contrast lowered the brightness enhanced, I still see the same thing. I don't understand what is going on here? Is the dress not white/gold? By the poll it seems thats what an overwhelming majority of people on here see, almost seemingly contrary to the comments.

  2. Totally see white and gold.
I got a feeling that image color filtering is going on, or perhaps horribly wrong shadows/color balance/color masking.
Suppose this is one of the 'depends on how your monitor shows it' and also my comment would be 'take a freaking good picture in sunlight', and have a blank white sheet adjacent to it.
I can show you pictures that makes a room appear 'green'as compared to how it looks in real life (white) (fluorescent lighting).
Issues are mainly due to improper white balancing of your camera.

Then again, I shall put on my red sunglasses, so the entire world appears to be every shade of red. Hmmm wonder if I can take a picture thru my rosy colored glasses and take pictures of the bright blue and yellot IKEA building and enhance the red hues of it, and ask people what they see!

    Thanks internet!

  3. Its gold and blue :p
  4. But it really is gold, even paint.net agrees with me...
  5. I saw this last night on reddit and could only see it as blue/black. When I first looked at it in this post it was white/gold for about 3 seconds. Because of the harsh sunlight in the background of the picture our brains tell us that the dress is in shadow and "fixes" it for us making it look white/gold. But in actuality the dress is overexposed from the flash and is actually washed out. The dress in real life is a dark blue and black. It is because of the checker shadow illusion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checker_shadow_illusion

  7. Okay, so... problem solved. The dress in real life is black and blue, but the dress in this picture is most definitely gold and (a lighter shade of) blue.
  8. Exactly lol, this is who sells it.

I suspect that they are getting sick of people asking if white and gold is in stock.:p

  9. I see blue and gold when I look at it.
  10. Lol I'm neither. I see Blue and Gold.... (had this discussion at work too)

The brown I see is a bronze.
The blue is a just a tad darker than the periwinkle shade

  11. Then you see it right :)
  12. It's blue and black, the black only looks gold because of the awful potato quality of the picture...... someone has edited the original photo and increased its brightness blah blah. This is why the blue looks light blue when the actual colour is dark. Here's proof http://www.romanoriginals.co.uk/invt/70931. And I have pretty good vision, have been tested a few times over the past few years.
  13. Oh I forgot to add the consensus from our experiments at work:
No matter what color the dress is, it's pretty darn ugly =P
  14. twenny one
  15. OMG I THINK THAT TO!
And so does my mom and her friends XDDD
  16. Okay, so, read this article. It explains everything, and it doesn't seem to have to much to do with eyesight. :p I personally see white and gold, but I'm working on fixing that, because I don't like it when my brain is silly. I do find it quite entertaining that the whole world is so worked up about a little blue piece of fabric.

EDIT: Well, it does have some stuff to do with your eyes, apparently (just how well your eyes work in dim light). Of course, the fact that it changes color at times for people also just decides to kill science. But the point is, it's just a dress, and all that matters is that people focus less on the dress and more on the much more awesome llama escape. :p

Why this entire thing is a 'trick' question.

  18. *sigh* it's obviously not gold & white or blue and black, it was the clone command this whole time people!
  19. Nope.

It does not look like a light shade of blue to me, it just looks like this shade of blue exactly.
As for the gold/black scenario, there is somewhat both. The top has a bit of a gold hue whilst the rest is more black.
