[IMPORTANT] Empire Update: Silence Of The Lambs!

  1. So can we have a THROW AS MANY EGGS AS YOU CAN Event at /spawn and at /shop 10 minutes before the update comes. Just to see it work?

  2. Ok so this increase in mob spawning in the wild would explain why I was swarmed by Ghasts in the nether when I spawned in. They were literally spawning within 4 blocks of me and then fireballing me. I managed to kill about 20 before I had to run for it due to the excessive amount of fire they were leaving everywhere. Is there a way to tweak this so they can't spawn on top of you or is that a minor mistake in the coding?

  5. oh trust me I am working on a fortress and when I logged in there were about 10 ghasts flying around..that jumped pretty fast once I killed a few. I guess if you have fire resist going it would be fun, but without that it got pretty painful...fast.
  6. Yeah, there seems to be a reasonable quantity of ghasts spawning... I don't think we need a Dystopia server anymore, haha.

  7. at first I was like "Sweet more ghast tears", but that quickly turned into a more "ouch ouch ouch!!!! ahhhh I'm on fire again!!!!" I am thinking that if this is supposed to happen then maybe turning down the ghasts spawning would be a nice idea...or atleast reduce how many spawn near ya...it hurts to get set on fire...:cool::confused:

  8. On Utopia can u have 200 animals and 300 entities?

  10. One additional thing: it seems that Utopia has received the same limits as the SMP's in terms of reses. The reses are 4x as big, so couldn't we at least up it to 200 there?

  11. Thank you God. I have a neighbor two residences down WAY over the limit and he hasn't logged on in a while to fix that.

    Edit: Just did /entcount on his res - 527/200 Entities,
    526/100 Animals

    That is RIDICULOUS...

  13. idk why this is happening...i have gotten no lag on EMC for a very VERY long time now.... i guess this feature must be for people with crappy internet/computers that cant handle then mobs on the server :/ anyway so much for every1's major xp grinders :(
  14. How long of a delay is there before my animals disappear? If I want to move a chest, I'll sometimes break it then collect up the items that were in it. Will I automatically have over 50 animals disappear if I do it this way? If so, this cuts my animal limit in half unless I want to move things in a more orderly fashion.

    Also, what things count as entities, animals and items? Depending on where I go in my res, my counts change so I've had a hard time figuring out what they are.

  17. Typo xD 1st paragraph on mob spawning behaviour.

    This is a nice way to combat lag. No more chickens at spawn, in my res when it is egged... Yay! :D
    I have 2 pigs, 2 sheep, 2 cows and 2 chickens to breed and a few other sheep of a few wool dyes for coloured wool, so i'm obviously not going to be using the mob limit...In the wild, however...

    What is bugging me right now though is the 35 block away mob idle. Have you fixed that? Y'know, the change in 1.3.1 where mobs would stay still unless you came within 35 blocks of the mob.
  18. Everyone is talking about fps lag, but im curious why? I never dive under 150fps with defscape 64x

  19. That's the only downside to this update xP There is more rooms for mob spawns. I hope Aikar fixes it soon.
  20. I get 20FPS with the default Minecraft texture pack, and I get 60FPS with my texture pack on. My texture pack is also 64x and its a mixture of sphax, defscape and ovo's rustic. I'm guessing other people's reasons for the lag spikes and FPS drops is because of the high amount of hostile mobs that are spawning.
