HMKX has found that this chemical fails to work on Tuber Crops, only some Grain Crops (Wheat, Rye, Barley), and is rather destructive to the soil when misused. A strict use regimen will be required to prevent over or underapplication of the Chemical, as in both cases it destroys the viability of the Soil. The Chemical, while non-toxic could be deadly if introduced to humans on a Genetic Level, as it works by inducing extreme amounts of mutation to the Crops. In addition, HMKX has discovered a way to synthesize it. It is both environmentally destructive and expensive, but it works. They have decided to keep it secret, to prevent random farmers from trying to use it and accidentally destroying their entire field.
Due to the failings, the HMKX has discovered, the trade the UNAFR wants is limited. A few fields in different climates of the country are vacant and will be used for testing. With new laws and reforms brought into Afghanistan, the UNAFR has announced its withdrawal from the Afghanistan government, allowing them to govern their own people independently. In secret, the UNAFR is placing in pro-UNAFR and anti-Taliban government officials and officials who want what's best for their country and the exclusion of Sharia Law. The people don't know this though, they believe that they are getting a legitimate Afghan government, but the UNAFR wants what's best for Afghanistan, leaving in an unknown entity to rule over a country they just rebuilt it foolish, and so keeping peace and prosperity can only be achieved by UNAFR pulling a few strings in the back. This is all covered up though, and the Afghan government is basically its own, just the officials are UNAFR friendly. The Ring Road is complete, running like a ring through Afghanistan it unites isolated communities and improves trade and transportation. The testings on the chemical compounds discovered by UFOS effective was deemed a disappointment to the initial hypothesis. In cold environments tested in the Yukon, the chemical saw little to no improvements, just a mild growth which was deemed non-nutritious In warmer environments, such as southern Ontario, the chemical worked much better. In Hawaii, it worked even better Scientists determined the chemical compound is only effective in warm climates, cold climates seemed to have little to no change. What is worrisome is the effect on soil. In every test in large open fields, noticeable damage was done. Using large amounts of chemicals on the plant resulted in the soil which was un-usable afterwards, leaving an entire acre of field for testing worthless. Even with the damage to the soil, the plant did see an increase in yield in outcome, although the size wasn't affected at noticeable rates. Even though the plant received an increase in the outcome, the soil was damaged, meaning that planting again would mean weaker plants which chemicals wouldn't have done much to help. When the chemical is used at controlled amounts, it is effective at its job, producing higher yield, yet not greater size. In the end, if one uses the chemicals properly and with the right amounts, the plant will definitely produce a fruitful harvest, but the impacts on the soil make the uses of this chemical useless. The UNSA is working on ways to genetically modify the cells to improve yield yet keep the soil moderately rich. During the experiments, the warmer the climate, the more nutritious the product seemed to be. As HMKX scientists found, it does not work on tuber crops, but only grain.

OOC: it only works on grains for a good reason. This chemical works by inducing mutations, and such mutations only work on Wheat and its close relatives. If one used it on Corn, it would just fail to work or produce unpredictable results.

The President has assumed emergency powers, combining the offices of Head of Government and Head of State into one, and a COBRA Council has been called. An army has been recreated in limited enlistment to enforce a curfew, however it shows no sign of stopping. The President has also rearmed several ships and recommissioned them for use in the North Sea.

There will be 198,340 reserves at the same time, thus bringing the land army size up to above 400,000. In the North Sea Navy there will be 57,000 personnel. There will be around 17,000 reserves. 29 patrol vessels, 27 minesweepers/mine hunters, 23 frigates, 18 corvettes, 6 guided missile destroyers, 6 fleet submarines, 4 ballistic missile submarines (already recommissioned, and fully armed with nuclear deterrent), and 2 amphibious transport docks. The prized jewels of the navy will be 2 aircraft carriers. 239 aircraft will be deployed in total. The North Sea Air Force will have 1,746 aircraft. The UNAFR is just heavily disappointed with everything FRNS is standing for, they are just getting worse every year. The President gives condolences to the tragedy in which resulted in the death of Michael A. Evans, they know what it's like to lose a President. The actions of FRNS police shooting and killing protesters is simply unaccounted for, as far as everyone knows, it was a "Protest" not a "riot," a riot we'll call it which didn't see any threat to anyone. It was a justified protest and anger of citizens against corruption, yet the police had to kill their own people. The UNAFR had to apologize, but the time has come, it was due for a long time. The UNAFR is no longer supporting FRNS in any combat initiations what so ever and demands the return of over 250 UNAFR made armoured vehicles, as well as artillery, SPGs, rocket systems and even 1 Globe Master. The UNAFR has also decided to heavily tax all FRNS exports to the UNAFR and has even cut certain trade deals down to a minimum. California, the UNAFR's biggest ally and key NPAT member is being urged to kicked FRNS out of the country abandoning the lease to their rare earth minerals mine. FRNS should worry about their torn country instead of making money on a different continent. Sounds a lot like what the British Empire would do... Algeria worries about Morocco's control of Gibraltar, and so they have built up their navy with a new class of Frigates and Corvettes.
