It is strange that after all the bickering between the United North and The HMKX Empire, they. may be doomed if they do not work together. NEW YEAR, NEW TAXES, NEW BUDGET! Time for a military vehicle overhaul! Wait. The plague. Gotta deal with that first! Just design for now. The HMKX Empire is drawing up plans for a new type of Empire Tank. Unlike the Quantiy(Misspelling intentional. Keyboard keeps converting into Korean) over quality approach of the Air force, the designs are intentionally made to be superior to any other tank or vehicle. The Empire has lifted Oil-Steel tariffs and lowered tarrifs in general to TUN on the condition they are spent in the United North. Exporting to the UKS with Imperial steel or oil is especially not allowed. Really. Not. Allowed. As a final note, The Empire sells steel cheap, considering the sheer deposits in the Enpire, and the quality ranges from “usable” as in slightly better than barely usable to acceptable to excellent to best in the world depending on which manufacturer is in charge FYI, Empire steel that is anything above “usable” has a 90% tariff in the UKS.
Swissilia would like to help researching ways of gathering and storing solar power, if possible. Funding won't happen until it is clear whether the funding of the Ministry of Space was a good investment. If funding were to occur, it would have to be absolutely clear that Swissilia's money and resources will not go toward nuclear research, because of the violent potential.
The whole "Nuclear Bomb" thing is a state secret. Publicly, they're researching safer reactors. The aid from TUN has been quite helpful. The lifting of tariffs to TUN are in full swing, to go in effect in 2 posts. This counts as one. The Empire still has beef with the UKS, however.
The UKNS military has announced they will test their first nuclear bomb in 1950 (in 4 pages). If all goes well, they shall put them into use - likely primed right at major Russian cities, particularly Petrograd and Moscow. North Sea scientists have also realised the potential of atomic energy, and have petitioned the government to fund research into atomic energy and power plants as part of the Ministry of Energy (currently responsible for coal mining), saying that the energy is the future. The government have accepted.
You’ve made a big mistake. You have angered the Empire. The Empire is allocating emergency funds to ICBM design, in secret. TOP SECRET. It will not matter if the UKS has a nuclear weapon if The Empire can strike anywhere without hassle, and destroy anything without even so much a single logistical calculation involved. Publicly, The Empire has criticized the UKS test as sparking an age of Nuclear arms races.
Aid and reformation has begun within the Indigenous community of The United North, especially in Canada. Rivers are polluted, and ecosystems are torn apart by sport hunters. TUN supplies the Native American communities to rebuild broken territories and to give them what they deserve. First Nation reserves all around the country are being funded, and are receiving the education and health care that they deserve. We will not let the children of these communities suffer and deal with the land that has been destroyed by outsiders. The Native American Civil Rights Act has been signed and has gone into commission. It gives the Indigenous peoples of Canada and America the same rights as us, and gives them benefited healthcare, education and other rights. We hope to strengthen the broken Native communities and give them the same chance as we have in life. Residential schools are being shut down all throughout the country. No longer will Native American children have to join these schools and be forced into European and Catholic ideals, we give them the right to choose their own path and to exercise their fruitful culture. The last residential school is planned to be shutdown the next page. On a similar note, Trophy Hunting has been banned. Trophy hunting is in which animals are hunted and killed and are hung up as a sign of succession, basically like a Trophy. This ban will protect the wild animals of our nation and keep endangered species safe in their own natural habitats. The ban will be posted within 1 post.
This has reminded the Empire of need to create environmental regulation. Reserved for later, since chronologically this comes right after TUN environmental regulation. A dashing new scientist has proposed a theory called "Catatstrophic Changes to Climate", or the CCC. The CCC theory proposes that due to certain gases, the world could warm in catastrophic ways and create a runaway greenhouse effect. Congress, skeptical of anything that could ruin the oil industry, but seeing the truth of the claims pledges to switch to renewable energy completely by 2010. In addition, logging is regulated heavily, and trees are continually planted. Lastly, the state is working on alternative means of concrete creation, for the current process is environmentally straining. ICBM research is ongoing, and the first model is scheduled to launch in 7 years. M/SRBM research is also ongoing, to use against the UKS exclusively. This is all hushed up, of course. Information security is tight on the ICBM to the point of paranoia, but it's honestly not all that strict around SRBMs and MRBMs. The tests for those are scheduled for 2-3 years. The Empire is not currently researching Nukes on missiles, and by extension miniaturization. They may if the UKS makes any more moves to arm themselves with Nuclear Weaponry. The Empire is moving on to health concerns. The Imperial ministries are in conflict and hives of corruption, especially in the ministry of health. This must end. The purge, round 2. Anti-corruption law is once again put into effect. Once again, the Empire's ranks will be stained with blood. 3 posts is all it will take, to purge the lot. It will take 6 posts to fill the ranks, during which the Empire will be unable to deal with many things. This is not a permission slip for the UKS to threaten Imperial interests however.
The Empire has sent a letter of thanks to TUN. (out of game) TUN aid had no part in the Empire's agents within TUN. As a matter of fact, they had been ordered to be sleepers to preserve credibility when TUN was onto The Empire's strings, and even these agents would not have been capable of manipulating TUN to send aid. (in game) To all the people of the United North. The Empire thanks TUN in this dire time. Had TUN simply chosen to withhold aid, it is likely the Empire would have fractured into its constituent states. The Empire survives because of TUN, and in turn the Empire has provided benefit such as lowered tariffs to the best steel in the world. However, this benefit is painfully insufficient. The Empire is well aware of this, and wishes the TUN nothing but luck. We wish the old men and women of TUN peaceful deaths contented. We wish the adults of TUN prosperity and, if they bore children success to them. To the children we wish clear skies, full bellies, warm houses and sweets. The North, The United North, we wish them the best of luck. And a bit of advice. Do not try to be a second US. It ended badly once, it will again. The Empire's citizens have received vaccines labelled "MEDICAL AID FROM THE UNITED NORTH." They seem to have developed goodwill, and goodwill of the citizens goes a long way toward diplomacy. However, a hostility between the UKS and HMKX Empire has developed. This is concerning, precisely because TUN is an ally of the UKS. HMKX citizens dislike UKS citizens, but favor TUN. However, the UKS is TUN's ally. We are not asking you to pick a side. However, remember that in war, there are no untouched parties. No untouched village. All feels war. -HMKX Congress. In addition, many letters from the group "All is illusion" was mailed to TUN headquarters. Make of it what you will. It is seemingly blank, but the group keeps mailing it, insisting the TUN is blind to the truth and that there is content in the letters. Apparently, the HMKX Theocracy members "Sheep of God" can see it. Maybe TUN should ask them.
TUN is very pleased with the bonding relationship that it has grown with The Empire. We do hope our friendship can expand further, and any aggressive motives before were all in the past, we give our utmost respect. However, as allies of the UKNS, we of course would have to support them, although we do wish that aggression will never occur, and we hope the 100% best for The Empire. Yes. The Empire welcomes questioning into the mysterious theocracy, because Congress wants to get information out of them. The deep state is also questionably legal, so the Judges want information too. Everyone wants answers out of the theocratic deep state. It will not respond to internal questioning. The Empire welcomes an exterior force trying to get information out of them. Although... some are not pleased. For example, the president, while pleased that the theocracy might be forced to choke out info, he does not trust TUN. The Empire is producing a high-quality but not supertank. It’s the technological equivalent of the T-55, but with much higher quality material and machinery. It’s fictional, but it could be seen as a much improved T-55, and it is either a really-high end first generation battle tank, or a really-low end generation two battle tank. There is no specific reason for this, and the unique Imperial model of tank is heavily based off Russian with some American-Japanese flavors. It just happens to be “relatively” easy to maintain and create. However, the all-round improvements and new type of turret is only fairly sturdy, (yes, “only”). It is simply too average and does not do satisfactorily at its tasks. Due to this, the tank in a heavily modified form is being considered as a elite unit, while a slightly downgraded version is planned to be a “mook”. The Mook version would take a minor hit to its fighting ability but hopefully make it much easier to repair. The Imperial tank and vehicle division values quality over quanitity, but also easy to maintain. This is a delicate balance, and the TO-1 (This Planned model) is a work of miracle-men. The new elite variant? I would be surprised if the Empire could make it even “relatively” easy to repair when it breaks down or is damaged by a foe, though no question it would be fairly robust.
TUN requests the Centurion tank from the UKNS. TUN would like a shipment of 400 of them, the UNAF will pay UKNS greatly. The UNAF brings back the scrapped project of the T32, of which 4 were produced in 1946. The T32 is similar to the M26 Pershing, although it has a longer chassis and far bigger gun with better armour. The UNAF decides to produce a new variant of the T32E1, the T32E2. This time, the tank will be more reliable, and be easily mass produced, while still being a strong heavy tank. The T32E2 will be produced in 2 pages. TUN Council secretly plans on invasion and colonization of Vermont. The United North does not plan on causing harm or causing any deaths or fighting, the invasion would be to increase landmass and land accessibility, as well as improved production and economy. The UNAF sends the newly produced M26 Pershing variants, M4 shermans, and Chaffees to the border of Vermont along with 8,000 men. This will take 3 posts.
The Empire’s air force has grown 15,000 strong, with the MiG-17 and E-1 serving as the major frontline jets, with older ones serving as jets which hold lines and which are ready to defend. Infantry’s weapons are undergoing a rearming project, taking 5 posts. A train network is being built on the Imperial-Indian border, as well as the massive region near, under the public reason of efficiently transportinng supplies to create infrastructure. This will take 1 year. In addition, The Empire has laid claim to a vaguely-India owned territory, which was disputed between China and India. The Empire is making vague threats and accusations to aggravate the Indians. It is “unknown” why the Empire is doing this.
