The Car Love Thread!

  1. Glad to hear you're liking it, that's what matters! Can't say it's my style, but I bet it has lots of bells and whistles. The advances in technology are amazing. My 1993 car compared to my friend's Skoda Fabia (only 10-15 years newer) has air conditioning in even the glove boxes (why? I don't know but he uses it to keep his chocolate cool), electronic remote controlled door mirrors - so much really! Looking at my father's 2013 Focus, I have no idea what half of the buttons do and I wonder if he knows either to be honest...

Not to say technology was bad in 1993 though. I have a handle inside the mirror on the passenger side that I can lean over to and move which moves the mirror outside ;) Two vents that go direct from outside to inside, three vents that lightly spit air out if you turn on the blowers, 6 buttons for stuff, one headlight switch, and three levers on the stalks. That's pretty much it, bar the lever for temperature/blower speed and if you have a carb engine then you have a manual choke as well, not that carbs have been used in new engines for a couple decades now :p
That's an awesome toy you've got there, didn't expect you to be going for a boat! :p

110hp is quite a lot for a boat, especially considering my little Panda weighs a lot more and has, er, 45hp... well, it did from factory anyway, probably nearing 40 by now!

  3. Here's one I finished up couple weeks ago, nothing special here's a before & after.

  5. That looks well nice! I'd say it's fairly special but then again we never see those here so that may be why :p Seen an old GMC van a week or two ago, all of them are imports if they are here so it's rare and special when we see things like that! It's also less likely to see them than things like imported Mustangs etc because the sports cars are more desirable, so it's awesome to see someone taking care of the vans/trucks here as well :)

  6. I got to sit in a Tesla Model S 90D last Friday. It was really cool to see eight Teslas on the way to school, too! :D

Note: a Tesla of any kind is my dream car (non-commercial ones).

  7. So, after totaling my 2004 Volkswagen Passat, I ended up with no car. So I decided to go out on a limb and buy this beauty!

She's a 2012 Ford Mustang. It had 46,000 miles when I bought it and only paid $14,100 for her. Came with a full Roush exhaust from the headers to the exhaust tips, along with a 4/10 gear ratio in the differential, also with 87 and a 93 exotic performance tunes on the computer. She will burn rubber! lol :p:D
  8. I always had a soft spot for them mustangs... :)

I think my dream car would easily be a '68 fastback but by the time I would have the money for one they'd probably be few and far between

But just look at these things man
  9. I will agree with you there! I find that the front and back on the '68 are a perfect match! I'd either go for the fastback of even a convertible but the '68 is my dream classical car.
  10. We're going to some old-timer event tomorrow. :)
I hope I'll see some interesting cars there!
  11. Sounds great, if you get any pictures then feel free to share a couple here! :)

Yesterday, I went to a local abandoned airfield to take some pictures, but unfortunately, it is closed off and completely private now as Dyson has taken over the land. It used to be British Ministry or Defence property until the airfield became disused, and it was a common place for events and for people to just go to chill out in a quiet area. Now that is not the case though so around the corner there's some old MOD hangars and among them is an old abandoned barn, so I parked in front of it in my 88 Panda 4x4 to take some pictures. Looks good taking pictures in such an area! :D

It's always nice finding a nice setting for the pictures as well!

  12. Here it is! My montage of the old-timer event! :)

When it started, I quickly learnt two things: firstly, I don't know how to configure good settings using this camera, and secondly, it's hard to take pictures of moving cars, with lots of people in the way.
So I resorted to mostly recording video, until all the cars had arrived. :)

  13. I myself am not really interested in cars but my grandpa sure is. The car below (idek what its called but maybe something with Willies or Willy or something like that in it xD) is not a picture of his car but that is the exact same thing as his looks and all. He usually keeps it under a tarp in his garage and brings it out for car shows!

  14. some pictures of my cousin's infiniti:

unfortunately my phone camera is extremely bad quality (6mp), so these were the best pictures i could get. amazing car to drive, fully loaded with luxury features. I was told it had the engine of a nissan GT-R, and while im not sure if that's true, the sound was still awesome :)

  16. I saw a quote above about a soft spot for mustangs, and I must say I have that too... It's called loose dirt hole in the ground! ;)

I will not rehash a lot but as I didn't get to go through 85 pages either I'm like to replicate some. I'm gonna skip Lamborghini's thougth it was my dream grown up to have a Countach.

Porsche 911 and Plymouth Prowler are a couple nice options!

  17. Except this was actually in a small village near Heerenveen, and not Rotterdam. ;)
I do wonder why they came here!
  18. Hahah too bad, I live three miles away from Zevenhuizen.

  20. Well, on the topic of vidya james, I had quite the need for speed on Friday. I tried loading my underground 2 disc on my playstation 2 (probably my favorite racing game ever) but my TV is too modern for the PS2 it seems.

    So I took to making a new profile on Need For Speed ; SHIFT. Here's some stuff ;
    Drift Competition w/ Mazda RX-7 : https://gfycat.com/gifs/detail/InfamousAnotherChanticleer

    Bein' a Jerk with a Lamborghini : https://gfycat.com/gifs/detail/NeedyGraveHamadryad

Aaaand most of a race... idk why the rest doesn't show https://gfycat.com/gifs/detail/HonestLimitedBandicoot

I never actually beat the game, that of which I'm on the way to doing right now. I'm taking it a bit slower, doing more races than I need to and scooping up more money to get a bigger variety of cars. After that, I've had SHIFT 2 unleashed sitting in my steam account for a while now too.
