  1. Hi, it's me again!

Have any of you got a so-called dream job? A job you think you'd love to have, although you're not sure if you'll be able to realise it?
    Tell us! :)
  2. Probably to make music. Maybe.

It's a great medium to convey messages and speak about things.

I don't have the money to buy an instrument and don't have the time to learn one currently, either. So... welp. Maybe soon.

YouTuber would be pretty cool too but I have no desire to chase that.

  3. Forensic Scientist/Criminologist for sure. Solving crimes based on DNA evidence has always been very interesting to me and I love solving mysteries. What's your dream job 607?

  4. Thanks for the comments!

My dream job at the moment (and it has been for some time) would be working for Google. I know many people don't like what they do, but from what I've seen, I quite appreciate their stance as a whole. And it could be very interesting, as they're always doing lots of innovative stuff.

  5. I would love to be a trust fund manager of my own trust fund. I just need a trust fund....
  6. Bomb Squad or to join the Marines.
  7. Interesting question! I'm going to give a different kind of answer: I don't know! :p

  8. My dream job is to not work at all :p. I do have a newspaper delivery job which I had for 8 years now. I only work 2 hours a week, so it is as close as I can get to not working while still making a bit of money.

  13. you and me both XD
  14. Another one - that's more realistic.

I'd love to go be an English language teacher in Germany. That's an option I'm keeping open, even though I don't think I could deal with the kids. We'll see what happens when I'm not seventeen years old and still a child myself.

I'm also looking into volunteer work for human rights workshops in Serbia so that I have something to do for a few weeks when I leave college in June next year. A big part of it is basically teaching women how to get out of abusive relationships, how to recognise when a partner is being abusive, what help is available, where to go, among other things. There is a huge domestic abuse problem in Serbia - their culture is very traditional to the point where it's ingrained on them that hitting their wives and children is okay, the men consume a Hell of a lot of alcohol, and I'm sure many have unresolved PTSD from the Yugoslav Wars in the 90s that cause them to do stuff like this - and I would like to help in whatever way I can, even if it were to only help a few people. If I pass Psychology into Year 13 (will find out next week if I did well enough in my exam) and then do well in my A Level, I'll probably be overqualified for this. My reason is pretty much that I know someone who has been struck by their father when she was just a small girl, and her brother got the crap beaten out of him as a kid with a belt every night. Her father is Serbian. If they're all like that - and I've heard many are even worse - I want to help however I can.

It's not a job, it's volunteer work and it only lasts a few weeks of my life, but I would be very happy to do it.

Something I definitely plan to do, and it would be my dream: publish a trilogy of books.

I've already started working on this. Not a job either, but just something I really want to do. I have a lot of the story planned out and the lore is mostly done, and I've written a few of the beginning chapters for one character. It's definitely happening, even if it takes me a while to make it come to fruition. And if I can't find a publisher, I'll just drop it all online for free or sell it myself as an e-book.

It's set in alternative 1930s & 1940s after Germany wins World War I. It's a topic I really want to see explored a lot more lol.

  17. Still a dream job, just more achievable than 'be a rock star' or 'become a youtuber'.

  18. Systems administration / network management is definitely my dream job. Although I need to make a small nuance: it's in my opinion at its best in small(er) companies and not so much the over-regulated stuff where you barely get to do nothing more but following the regulations as a nice bureaucrat drone. Now referring to the same geniuses who thought that systems administration is basically the same as service desk work (bzzzzt).

The fun for me is obviously in the IT part; keeping things running and always trying to improve on things (while making sure it's actually an improvement and not a ticking timebomb), but also the diversity. One moment you're working on a maintenance check for a server, the other you're setting up a change in the companies firewall policy and yet another you're helping someone out with a Word problem (for example). Unfortunately this is also why some airheads got the idea that a helpdesk (oops, it's now called a service desk, more politically correct I guess :D) would be where to find systems administrators. Only to discover that it actually doesn't work if you need to perform high level maintenance and can be disrupted at any given time by someone complaining about a missing file (which they threw away themselves just the other day). Alas ;)

Speaking of service desks though... I do like my side-job too.. Phone support for a not to be mentioned overseas company. Best part is that I can do it from home. I plug my headset in, connect myself to the main server and I'm on standby. An even better part is that I can easily do other things while on standby, like playing Minecraft for example. That's really something else

The down side (of course) is that you can go afk at any given moment, so you can't really take on big projects during that time (sorta).

  19. If you know me, I love metal music. No, that does not make me a satanist. Leave me alone.

Probably would make that type of music. I want to. I have been practicing the screaming for some reason xD

  20. Well I have three jobs in mind but I will never be able to decide.

    1) To become a pianist
    2) To become a butler (You are extremely stupid if you believe that only boys are and cane become butlers because that is false and somewhat a little sexist. There are actually many female butlers but male butlers are more common.)
    3) To become a famous anime vlogger youtuber like Akidearest, The Anime Man, Lost Pause, etc
