It takes about 12 minutes in the overworld if you travel by boat. I would recommend taking multiple boats on your way out. Nether would take probably about the same since boats are fast but you may shave a few minutes off of your time.

I have a lot of experience with linking portals and making useful tunnels/bridges.I would like to join the outpost to make friends and share my knowledge with anyone who is willing to work with me on the project. Also, I am not big on building the train stations at either end really, someone else would make a much nicer job of it, but I can make the portals and route planning/construction.Nether lag is not a problem with enclosed roads or tunnels because there isn't much to render (like fires) and modern nether roads are planned large enough for high speed horse travel.
