[Suggestion] Revolt against Auctions.

Discussion in 'Suggestion Box Archives' started by ShaneKas, May 4, 2015.

  1. The thing that only makes me mad on the forums: auctions.
I usually can't afford to participate in auctions.
Especially when the "recently active threads" is this
    (I couldn't put a photo cause I can't post them )
    [Auction]
    [Auction]
    [Auction]
    [Auction]
    [Giveaway]
    [Auction]
    [Auction]
    [Auction]
(Random other thread that we don't care about.)
My point is that almost all of the recent threads are auctions. I get really irritated because there's nothing other than auctions that interests me. Suggestion: Remove auction related threads from the recently active threads. This will increase my forum time more often. (Sorry, if im being a auctionist :p) I don't think this would have much effect on others, but it is an idea that came to my mind.

  2. This has been suggested before and was, to my knowledge, rejected.

  4. Maybe a second bar. One for auctions and one for all others
  5. I like seeing auctions in the recently active threads. :p

  6. I like knowing what auctions are currently going on. So yeah a second bar would work. :)

  7. Has been suggested before and has been denied, since we do not have much control over XenForo, unfortunately.
So yeah, even if we wanted, I don't think it would be possible.
  8. I always thought it was postponed, not denied? D:

  9. EMC runs Xenforo, which is very limited as said above.

  10. I can see this happening once Xenforo is updated. IIRC, there's an option to exclude certain sections in later versions, to do it right would be a pain in the ass though.

  11. You can do that in the current Xenforo version if you "hack" it correct?
By "hack" I mean modify the code directly, which is a bad thing to do since it causes lots of problems.
  12. I like it this way, but I think it would be changed if easily doable.
  13. Correct.
