And the reports of lag makes me thing Bungee is to blame. this week I will work on getting a new dedicated server for Bungee and work on tweaking its settings so it wont randomly run out of memory (which is the cause of the crashes).
Back home, yea bungee ran out of memory for sure but me and aikar got it working. need a secondary connection for server to help prevent such an issue in the future though aikar lol.
It's just storing and running the Bungee files. When you connect with the emc.gs address or whatever it is now, you'll go to that server, which will redirect you to the game server you were last on. A hub is simply a game server that bungee sends people to when they connect.
If minecraft didn't use netty this probley wouldn't of happend. Netty cannot handle too many people in one area, no wonder what the big servers are crashing and lagging a lot.
I'm not sure that this is a netty issue. hatori did say that Bungee had run out of memory. That is simply from the running of the software.
I know i was just saying a possable reason why the server lags when a lot of people are in one area *cough* drop party's
Ikr i cant log on, i left last on smp2 not 4. Dis gunna be fun Out of every time you wanted your gold/iron, now would be it lol
74/60 people on smp4 i wonder how long the server can survive before crashing because the amount of people trying to join
i will talk with aikar and see what our options are about a population increase. but if the server software its self can't handle a lot of connections than an increase would probably just make matters much worse instead of better.
