So, with a new wild coming out and the old one to be used more "politically", I have a suggestion. Every time you perma ban someone for griefing, you give them an option, if they contact you to get back in....the option being "community service". Imagine, some kid griefs a house in the wild and gets banned. He/she cries up a storm to get back in. A mod offers reinstatement under one condition.....5, 10, 20+ hours community service. this would involve teams of players heading into our old wild and fixing creeper holes, repairing and expanding roads, replanting forests and so on. I haven't thought in depth about the logistics of such a venture, but the concept is decent I think.

Lastly, if and when we are able to claim land in the wild, a patch allowing shop chests must follow soon after, or the idea of real "cities" or "towns" will go out the window. Without the shops, the best we can hope for is a nice little village or "base" for people to work out of as they strip the surrounding areas of resources.

PS. Can't wait for Dragon Tomb!

I agree there should be a way for people that want to come back that would benefit the whole.

Nope. Just the option to live there without the fear of being reset is coming.

However, we are giving you, the community, the vote on its name. We are also going to give a name to the CURRENT wild to help make it less confusing, so you can be distinct in messaging on what wild/nether your referencing.

The poll lists many of the best names suggested by the players, so vote which you think is best and will be better for the long term of EMC!

Put consideration into consistency and how it will sound when people talk about it in chat!

Phrases like "meet me in the frontier" or "meet me in the wastelands nether".

Here are the names we originally suggested / used for this and our reasoning.

Current Wild/Nether: Frontier - Wild Frontier / Nether Frontier / Frontier Wild / Frontier Nether

Reasoning:

The Wild will be that transition zone in between various settlements/outpost/colonies. This "frontier zone" would match up exactly with the wild/nether, as the areas between settlements encounter monsters and undeveloped terrain.

Soon as you exit a PRA, you enter the Frontier, until you land on another settlement.

New Wild/Nether: Wastelands - This land is wasted every update and is the main harvest area. The terrain outside outposts will be "wasted" (as it pretty much is today...) due to mass resource harvesting.

The staff are working hard to get the wastelands in stephan. Alot of people like you really want to go to the wastelands and see what's in that world. I'm really excited for it and i know you are, but we have to be patient hopefully they can do it by the next up date. I'm not trying to rush you staff i'm just trying to say that you can take your time on the update hopefully everyone will be patient for the wastelands.

I know that JustinGuy,IceCreamCow,Aikar, and Maxarias are working HARD for the wastelands to get on the server ASAP. But everyone has to take there time on stuff. Keep on working hard Admins, and i Hope that the wastelands will be good!

Not just yet. ETA: Within the next month - probably fortnight. Aikar has pushed a load of bug fixes out in the past couple of weeks to prepare (*delayed*) for them so not long now.

Bug fixing delayed it... as always MC updates always slows down our feature development.

I also had/have alot of personal time being used lately -- I've really been playing Ingress for excercise, and sorry my personal health > EMC
