  1. Well, I know how to "Play the market" also - I can invest in an item, turning 600r into 900r almost instantly. But not everyone can do that, and not alot of people have 20,000+ rupees. 20,000r per chunk is plenty reasonable to me, meaning that rich people won't "spam" the wild with protected areas of theirs.
  2. Still, claiming land is in town, just go there if you wanna build on your own safe land, thats what its there for
  3. The live map thing is ok, but the other topics regarding land claim, not appropriate
  4. Well, this allows more people to have "safe land" for stuff that they can't fit on their res. It's the same thing as the [LOCKED] signs - with the high price, the wilderness won't get overrun with them.
  5. Wasteland had a live map, Wilderness did not.
  6. The wild is called the Wild for the reason, it's not a town, all the resources and material is fair game, if you really need to build bigger than 60 x 60, go play Creative Single Player

  7. Where do you get this from?
The rules you signed up to clearly say:

    1. Thou Shalt Not Destroy

Do not break other people’s creations (aka griefing). If you are caught doing so mindlessly or maliciously you will be permanently banned.

    2. Thou Shalt Not Steal

Do not steal from other players, even if you find an unlocked player chest in the wilderness or if you have container permissions on another players lot. If you are caught doing so you will permanently banned.
  8. DO /Tutorial.... go to the 2nd question i think...

where is it SAFE to build?

in your 60x60 residence in Town....

you shoulda answer that if you play in here...

HERE: made it easier on you... since it seems ppl forget about the very first thing they did when login on EMC after creating the forum account

  9. That is because that is the only place where ECM have managed to make it safe.
The Rules are TRYING to make wilderness safe.

It does not mean that we should abandon trying.

That is like saying the only place you're safe is at home, hiding in the cupboard. It does not make it ok for people to then kill people in the street as we are only trying to inforce the law in that area!

May I ask the question: Why are you defending the right for it NOT to be safe in the wild so hard? What is it you fear to lose?
  10. im not defending the ritgh for it NOT to be safe....

Im just stating that by whenever ANY of you posters DEMANDING a safer wild joined the community... it was already stated that THE ONLY SAFE PLACE was Town...

    you want /map hide...
    you want safer wild...
    you want griefers banned...

    you demand a lot...

what do you do for Empire besides asking for stuff FOR FREE?

(supporters on this forum disregard the above line)

Ever figured out why "The City" barely to never got griefed?

well the selection proccess was picky, required at least iron supp status for /map hide, entrance was WAAAY hidden from plain sight.

Now you want the ALL non-supporter dynmap viewable player's wild communities be safe?

EDIT: oh and guess what... Wilderness griefing started the day ppl decided to build "communities" in the wild... the more communities, and OMGWTFBBQ guilds/clans are out there with members not able to be hidden from dynmap.. the more griefing will be done

  11. We are working towards improving the reporting system and protections against griefers and thieves. Nothing is perfect, including EMC.

Part of the problem is that people tend to ignore the fact that wilderness living is fraught with danger.
Hunger, fall damage, mobs, lava, etc. We can not protect you from these things.

Griefers exist as well. They are not just free players either. We have had to ban every level of supporter and players who have even been here since the beginning (before the server went public)... So, just know that your pleas for resolution do not go unheard but we can't just snap our fingers and remove malice from a person's heart.

Just like the real world, a criminal is innocent until proven guilty. We don't punish and then review any cases. We review and then act upon reports. However, just like the police, we have limits on what we can do at any given time.

We can't be the Big Brother you seek. If you want that, start your own server, and implement all of the things you want from us. If it works out well, show us our flaws and how you circumvented them. Until then, make a suggestion, explain yourself with dignity, and discuss it civilly. Don't turn it into an argument.
