Yep that's right folks our favorite game is being made into a movie by Warner Bros, set to be released in May 2019. Now don't ask me but does making Minecraft into a movie sound like a terrible idea? None the less I just found out about this but it's been around since July 27th of this year.
It could be pretty good although it will probably fail miserably. If the movie makes any reference to herobrine I am done right there. The original director of the movie wanting to make it similar in nature to "The Goonies" which could actually work out well with Minecraft but it apparently got denied by the higher ups and the director left the project. http://www.polygon.com/2014/12/13/7386783/minecraft-movie-director-goonies With that said, if they find inspiration similar to how the found inspiration for the lego movie it stands a chance.
Actually that wouldn't be bad, The Lego Movie was a favorite of mine from 2014, though I think it would be more interesting if it was done like how they're doing Minecraft Story Mode, with an actual story.
The idea it's self I fully support, in reality I hope something goes wrong from the start because I really REALLY don't want to see it flop, and reflect bad on the minecraft community.
Most if not all video game movies do bad. At least with critics and professional reviews. I have high hopes for a good video game movie, but I don't think this will be it. I'd rather see it as more of a series rather than a movie, mainly because I don't sit through an hour and half of watching someone play Minecraft, I'm not gonna do it with this. (There is a major difference, but I'd rather play a game than watch one).
I vote the movie is just a 10-second short of a player hitting "Q" by accident and dropping a stack of diamonds into lava. Genre: Horror
No, I don't think it's a bad idea. I don't know whether it'll be good or bad, probably mediocre. But it doesn't matter. It's Minecraft, a big part of Minecraft's demographic are kids, and the kids won't even look up reviews for the movie. They'll see an ad, get their parents to buy them cinema tickets, go there, and mediocre or not, they'll like it, as it's Minecraft and kids don't need high quality to enjoy things. And because Minecraft is still quite popular now and might even be in 2019 still, it will earn back the money invested into it.
Im not sure what to think about this XD Though since many hate the word "Herobrine" I dont even though its/he is fake I want him in the Minecraft Movie....idk I just need something creepy in this XD P.S. What the heck am I saying?!
I've heard Warcraft is a good video game movie. It's been slammed by critics for sticking close to its source material and 'being for nerds' (<--- the whole point), which is a good thing - besides, they always complain when it doesn't stick close to source material, so they should make up their mind. Honestly, I think a Minecraft movie is a terrible idea. Even Story Mode went against what the game is about, it is not pretty at all, and the plot and characters were so generic and stale and the whole thing is just... not good. Although, saying that, I think a Minecraft TV series would be pretty okay. Something like 10-20 minute shorts. It works for YouTubers like Slamacow, I don't see why it wouldn't work for a big budget TV series.
I had forgotten about Warcraft honestly. The only movies that came to mind were the Assassin's Creed movies and the Final Fantasy Movies.
Minecraft 1.14 Changelog: Added Bugs Bunny to game to please our Warner Bros. overlords All pigs now yell "T-t-t-t-that's all, folks!" every time you die
Story mode turned out well. I'm hoping the movie will be similar, but I still think it's going to be horrible.
I'm excited for the minecraft movie as well as suicide squad, docter strange, rouge one, and i still am yet to see warcraft
