I need to know how to add images to signutures. Whenever I add them it just has a little icon that looks like a piece of paper. How can I add an image or two successfully? Thanks, Stnywitness
You need to get the link of the image and then post that into the little tree icon thingy in the text box. Say for example I wanted this image from this post https://imgur.com/YUz5QAQ I would get the link from the page of https://i.imgur.com/YUz5QAQ.png and paste that into the tree box thing.
It's just the same way as you add normal images, it only cuts it off after a certain amound of pixels, so if you're trying to paste in a square image that is big enough in width to cover all the page, it will, but only show off the top part as it cuts it off after a certain amound of pixels, to change this you easyly have to reduce the amound of pixels of the picture. (or make it really wide)
No luck. I did everything you said to do but when I type in URL in the tree it does it, but the only thing that shows up is a paper icon.
maybe try to re-upload it, It's just guessing for me, I don't know what website you're using to upload it, but I know Imgur and puu.sh work.
The best way is to have an account on Imgur so that you can keep your own image collection. Step one, upload your image to Imgur and get the URL you need to use on the forums. Here is an example: Using Imgur to show how to use Imgur.... anyone getting an headache yet? So now that we got the required URL ([img]https://i.imgur.com/kTEAa6e.png[/img]) it's time to add this to a signature (I'm just using an example image from my Imgur collection here, we'll pretend this is a usable image). Step two: getting to your signature settings: The direct URL is: https://empireminecraft.com/account/signature Step three: just paste it all in. For example, this is how my signature looks in "edit mode": I scrolled up so that you could see better... Note: although you're seeing images here now I started with plain out URL's, like the one's I showed and copied in my message (the [img]<stuff>[/img] stuff). So just copy the whole Imgur URL (as shown above) into your signature editor and it should work out. Hope this can help.
FYI, I've only been able to use these methods on my computer when I add pictures to comments. If I try to add a picture in the original post, I always get the same problem. It just doesn't work. I follow the directions correctly. I've tried other computers. I believe it used to work before we changed IPs. Not sure what that would have to do with it, but there it is. The only way I can have an actual picture post to an OP is to ask a mod to add it after post.
Thats probably why it isn't working. Maybe it is only for specific computers. SIGH. Thanks anyway guys
I can't imagine that being true. Could you input the picture the way Shel and others explained, and then save it as your signature? It might appear as a broken picture to you, but if you do it right and the picture is not embed-protected somehow, or retrieved from cache, we should surely see it. And if you use imgur, there shouldn't be any problems at all.
No, All you have to do, is upload the image... The link will be; https://i.imgur.com/AVmRUNU and you right click the image, and click Copy Image Link Location. You will have; https://i.imgur.com/AVmRUNU.jpg Thats the link you use to put in the tree.
no, but you have to use the full image link, not the picture link... (right click on the picture and click open in new page, then that new page should have only the image, copy that link
