I looked more into those number plates to make sure that's indeed a 1 and not an I, and learnt about something I didn't know about: number plates with low numbers (from a very long time ago) go for very much money. The NSW 22 number plate for example, was sold for $905,000 at an auction last year.
It was indeed a 1, it said so in the link. And, yup, in some countries you can buy custom number plates, and they often go for ludicrous amounts.
I didn't post earlier because I wanted to look up what this is from but I didn't have time for it then... but I still don't have time for it. Fortunately I found this rather quickly.

It's been a very long time since we had actual Preiser! (I say actual Preiser because Noch has very similar products but to me Preiser is the brand for model train figurines)
