  1. Yes I really wanted to know about that whilst I'm trying to concentrate on parkour.

Advertising on Games is just annoying, people there are there to play the games, not to shop. Ban it please.

As with any suggestion feel free to find several billion ways to make my point mute.
  2. why is even economy chat in /games, lol?
  3. Perhaps Economy Chat could be redirected to the waste bin on that server. There is programming already in place that diverts it from Town Chat into Economy Chat based on key words. The Staff would not have to enforce special rules for one server and only require that Economy Chat be in the proper channel.

  7. I was going to advertise in games the other day but I thought to myself it's games. So I didn't.... I'll give this a +1

However, I'll give Truman props since he was advertising Casino Games on the Games server...
  8. I'll give it a +1 as well. though maybe if it could be controlled so "town" chat is only when not in a game it could allow it. Otherwise it should treat it as though it's not visible chat. EG: people conversing in a hide and seek game should not be impacted by people in pvp nor people trying to find a group for another game.

Could also only be allowed in TOWNs with no ability to do it in the waste, wild, games, etc...

  9. Sounds like what you're proposing is res chat within in all games only and town chat when in the lobby/surrounding lobbyish areas...

  10. Maybe even a bit tighter since each games lobby chat should normally relate more to the game. One reason this woudl really work is mass advertising (not matter what or who) would simply drop off games eventually as the impact number would be so little compared to now when if there are 2 active games you can hit up 20 people in the midst of other stuff will get it today. Maybe the easiest way was noted above in removal of @e, but I kinda took the approach of making the games servers chats even more robust for those on that server.

  11. I'm a bit indifferent to the whole thing but it still got me thinking... Another option could be to provide players with chat settings on a per-server basis. So if you use /ch hide e it wouldn't necessarily apply to all servers but just the one you're currently on. This could allow players to hide economy chat but only on those places where they don't want it.

When I'm out in my frontier outpost (SMP9) I also usually hide economy chat (provided I'm a supporter) because I'm not interested in any advertisements while I'm there and only want to focus on my survival game and some optional common chatter.

  12. I favor limiting Economy Chat in general on the Games Server. I also think mjnoe70 brings up a good point in favor of at least limiting it and possibly other chat when people are actively playing a game. This could also include Server Announcements. I think this might be most important for young or inexperienced players since they might be less likely to be familiar with Chat controls and possibly at a disadvantage against more experienced players who do understand that they can disable chat. Hopefully some method of automatically turning it on or off in an intelligent way can be used.

  13. I don't see anything wrong with it honestly, I think if it becomes an issue, to ban it..

I mean, its not like tons of people are on games at once anyway.

  14. /chat off or somthing liek that
  15. is there a way to turn off economy chat?
  16. Yes there is a way to turn off certain channels. I sometimes turn off town when it's too busy so I can see chat and pms still.

  17. you can completely hide chat from multiplayer settings, sometimes i do that, and i know some friends who always play like that
  18. Yes but the way I am talking is to hide say T but still have L, R, S and pms.
    607 and Tuqueque like this.
  19. chat hide T/E etc

But blocking E messages (and anything that would be forced to E) is on my todo list.

And people who try to bypass can be muted.
