Unless I've really gone astray, this is relevant: ce b1 48 e8 6f 73 2d 13 1b 2f ce b1 2a 2d 6b 10 7a 55 35 b6 be 36 5e 85 2f f7 5d 30 7b de 36 73 58 f5 e6 99 1d ba ad a6 77 d1 b5 58 ed 63 a6 47 e2 4f 36 c2 15 df 77 bc c2 aa c9 d1 6e 35 ba 0e c7 ce cb c8 4f 7a 72 54 8f c4 9e 6d 85 ae 8e 2f 79 18 fe 64 de ff ad bb 2e d7 97 47 f6 11 dd bc 16 ed e1 db 0b ae 6d 37 d0 f0 67 e7 a2 77 ba b2 97 44 df 2f 73 53 1e cf 2e 71 33 b4 7e ca f9 ee ce 92 b1 f7 d2 e1 e3 bc 39 46 ee fc 17 8f ba b0 7a 16 b4 84 30 df 5d 95 7a 1c b8 0c 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 03 f9 ef 7c 07 14 8d 0a 24 1b 74 6f 64 20 20 20 01 25 15 39 12 b9 09 82 08 60 82
Solved that problem. It's an illusion. There are is actually only one because look at both ends. One side has 3 and the other has four.
Pab10S, you are thinking along the same lines as me. Yes, I believe those will be important in finding an answer, but what do they mean?
This is what I have come up with so far. Maybe it will help(or mislead) someone else: - The file does not strictly conform to the PNG format. - It does not have an IEND chunk. - There are 198 extra bytes following the IDAT chunk. - The hex value of the extra 198 bytes are what I posted above, formatted for readability. - The PNG format specifies that programs can skip chunks that are not understood. That is why it displays in Chrome for me along with Windows Explorer, and Paint, but not Irfanview or PictureIt. Other things that seem to be important/things I've tried/thought of trying: - I did not verify the checksum at the end of the IDAT section so there may actually be 202 extra bytes to examine. The extra four are: 42 75 77 27. - We are supposed to think "outside the frame", rather than "outside the box". Frame is a term used in coding webpages. - His Signature is in PNG format and was created using an Adobe product. The puzzle graphic was not that I can tell. - Salesman linked a Wiki page on Binary to Hex encoding. So far I've only played around with MIME. - Played around with encoding Salesman200 and seeing if it shows up in the extra bytes. - I've Googled Salesman200 and have found some of the things he's been up to. Nothing that has helped me with the puzzle though. - The filename, M0sRAbu, seems like an unusual choice. I've tried Googling it and MIME encoding it also. - TinEye doesn't find the graphic either. - I considered that the invalid chunk might still follow the PNG format or was inserted in between, but nothing after the IDAT section seems to fit. - Elucidate means to make clear. - The bottom of "elucidator" is chopped off and the lines below it seem skewed. - I've considered trying to slide the data/graphics around to see if the bottom part lines up into something recognizable. - It's possible that the data where the image becomes unclear is also part of a message.
Good Luck those even attempting this and Good Job whoever manages to solve it. I haven't even attempted because this all just sounds like trolling. "It's this but it's not this!" is all I'm reading from all this which to me sounds like "I'm just doing this for the lulz". I'm not good at decoding these things, never was when they were posted
I am confident that this is not a troll challenge and I was close enough that we agreed to let someone else figure it out while I added to the rupees. I was not 'correct' in all of my assumptions so it's still unsolved, but I am out of the running.
Trolling is intentionally trying to upset people. I get upset when I'm frustrated and puzzles can be frustrating, but I doubt if that was Salesman's intention. Although I definitely don't have an answer, I had to have hit something with that shotgun blast.
