1.4.4 Update.

Discussion in 'Empire Help & Support' started by ApricityXI, Nov 15, 2012.

  1. In beta we used to have an update once every month or half a month.
In alpha the gaps were usually half a month.
  2. I think the reason updates seem to drive people away is because well, look at 1.3, we had so many glitches, people were ranting on the forums and leaving. I forget where but at one point I read that it people claimed to have told Mojang about them and they said "Oh well, wait until the next update." Younger kids get kind of antsy and so I'm sure they got impatient since it "took forever" for the plugins to update and then after that there were more glitches. I think people freaked out and thought that the game was just dead and ruined. Plus for some reason there are white knights out there who are all Anti-EMC since the big names were banned for rule breaking and then there are the usual "I'm going to dig this guy into a hole and set him on fire!" kinda people getting banned.
  3. Our activity actually shot up once we updated.

it's really boiling down to people update and not able to connect.

  4. If that's the case, the situation with people going elsewhere and not returning should happen with other servers, meaning EMC should be able to appeal to an increased audience of potential new members. With that assumption, we should be going into overdrive to try to get new members during each update.

  5. I've got to completely agree with you there.

Going waaaaayyyyy back to when I did The Empire in Perspective, there was quite a few things I didn't include in the post, mainly because they were pretty insignificant. As said in TEiP, no other servers had the community in them that EMC does. What I didn't include is that I never saw any of the same people on from day to day.

Like, you can go on an EMC server and see pretty much the same people there every day. However, on every other server I've seen that's not the case. They don't have regulars, and there's people leaving on them all the time - in fact, I suspect that many many more people quit each day on them. Because of the lack of community on these servers, and that no-one really knows each other on them, people don't see people drift off gradually.

But we see that, and in my opinion, that's a good thing. If we didn't notice people leaving, then we wouldn't be a tight knit community like we really are.
  6. Well, if such people are viable to not stay on those servers, why aren't we directly marketing the sticky community that is the Empire to the rest of the less sticky Minesphere?

My idea is we send 10 expeditions, each made up of of 4-5 people, to the top 10 servers on Minestatus to set up an Empire Embassy to integrate our communities and get an influx of new members from these communities. Our embassies could follow the Ten Commandments and other Empire customs (although not to the point that the server's core gameplay is disrupted by principles such as the no-PvP policy), and educate new members to the Embassy about our community.

This may be a long shot, but eventually, if the majority of active members on the server were members of the Embassy, we could attempt to have embassy members declare the servers under the control of EMC, and have them demand the server owners that they hand the servers over to the Empire community and administration, following our rules and operating as one of the EMC servers alongside the SMP and Utopia servers in exchange for affiliation under our umbrella brand. After all, what's an empire without colonialism?

  7. Seriously? Please leave - Were not going to force other servers to join us..
  8. Sounds like neo-naziism to me :eek::eek::eek:
  9. We're not forcing them, if we can convince enough to join the Empire unionist movement on each server, it shall be nothing more than coercion.
Nazism: a form of socialism featuring racism and expansionism and obedience to a strong leader.
There's no racism, the expansionism will only go ahead in a way that causes the least amount of friction between communities, and as for strong leaders....blame ICC for that :)
  10. Severely frowned upon an ALL servers.
If you do that on any server, including EMC, you will get banned before you know it.
And, I don't want to speak for ICC, but he probably wont want you doing that either,
it's giving you the wrong message for EMC.

  11. This wouldn't involve active campaigning for people to come to EMC, it would merely be an initiative on the server with the goal of participating and contributing to the community while attempting to promote the Empire with a focus on what EMC can do and has done for that community, as opposed to what that community can do for EMC.
Our contribution on these servers would make people regard the Empire Minecraftians highly, to the point they would wish to join out cause. We would seek to do nothing except spread the right message for EMC in an appropriate manner for each respective server.
  12. I don't like that idea of a embassy in mine status . Plus that forcing other servers to join us. Emc got where it is because it is unique, not coz it forced its will upon people. I must say I'm quite shocked by that post 72volt.
  13. Why does every one of this kids site interaction involve forming a group and gaining control over something? People don't just jump into groups blindly, they follow leaders. These leaders are always respected. And respect is earned over time...

Maybe we should just "buy out" the servers.

  14. Then you haven't seen his history then this is normal for him trying to do something like this .

Haha yea we had a member at LLO trying to make a Government and Ranks. He really did try to but most of us were like " We are Equal no one is above or below one other" after told him that he said he want so we can blame them for are problems. We were like WTF that doesn't make sense but he has kept quiet for some time now lol
  15. He's done this before??? Good thing I don't travel far from my home in smp2
  16. (As I said right before you!) :)
  17. At first I was like, "Haha! That's funny! Good one". Then I was like, "Oh god, you're serious, aren't you."

  19. Haha yea I pm the treads about it so not off track this thread. :)

    Only seconds apart lol
  20. I'm not suggesting we force EMC on anyone, we can integrate it completely smoothly in this fashion and nobody in these communities has to join if they don't want to.
No need to be mean :(
