If this was 11 year old me you were talking to (3 years ago), I would have answered with some lie about 'wanting to help the community'. In reality, I just wanted to have a fancy title and bragging rights. I didn't, and have never, had anything to brag over in real life, so I guess this contributed to it slightly. But the main cause would have just been greed I'm sure a lot of pre-teens feel. On the bragging rights thing; I had been bullied at school for five years straight, and had never had more than five friends at a time in my life. The bullying ended up continuing on into High School and into Year 8. When people saw that it was having a genuine effect on me, it came to a slow. It didn't completely stop, but it became a whole lot better. As of September, its only 2 people - so I guess you could say its pretty much stopped. In Year 7, EMC became my escape - and to this day, in Year 10, it still is. And it's helped me through a lot Back on topic... I, as a 12 year old, still wanted a staff position. I was still still wanted it primarily for the nice title and fame that came with it, but there was an actual sense of wanting to help people buried somewhere. As a 13 year old, I genuinely wanted it to help people. And then I realized I didn't need a fancy title and a banhammer to do that. I helped a few new players out and gave answers to people looking for commands and stuff. Eventually, I just stopped wanting the title completely. Until I got greedy again and I thought I should have been showered with praise for playing a part in helping create the EMC wiki, even though I played no role in creating the site-version. That greed dissipated over the course of a few months. And then current, 14 year old me: I don't want a staff position. If I was invited to become a moderator, sure, I wouldn't refuse the chance to see if I could do some good and serve EMC in some way as a staff member. I probably wouldn't. I'm happy with being a part of the Contribution Team, where I know I can do some good for sure. I guess that's technically staff, right?
I want to become staff because I enjoy helping people. Lots of people have influenced me to apply for staff. I had one friend who became a staff member on another server, and I just enjoyed helping them and the others who asked for help. People called me a know-it-all, because, well, I knew an answer to almost every question I encountered. I don't want to be staff for the perks or for the popularity, but because I can help people. Though there may be the group of people that make me wonder how anyone could deal with them without losing their patience, I still attempt at making everyone smile. I'm a joyous person, and I think that if someone can be helped, they will be helped.
Wow HighLancer ... I so love the way you think! I am of the same philosophy and I think yer awesome. While I'm at it I would like to say that I've been (& will still be if we can ever get it back up) a moderator on another server and it's a lot of work but ... it's also very satisfying when you can help others and keep it safe for them. MC is such a wonderful 'no boarders' place where all are welcome to come together and accomplish so many things.. building: buildings; friendships; communities; fun!; and on and on.. Sorry, a bit off topic. Anyway, I feel like empire with all those who are here be they staff or players contribute to make it such an awesome place to be. Thanks!
I wanted to become staff to help the community. I really like to help people. I love to do the right thing. I am realllly young but whatever. I also wanted the flashy title and followers (like soul said.) What Influenced me? well, helping people of course!
I guess it is my turn to do this. Why do you want to become staff? I want the residences, rupees, green name, and power to ban deathconn I love helping people and I feel that I owe the Empire a lot. Heh heh... Has anything/anybody ever influenced you to make you want to become staff? Well, nick5013 influenced me a while back when he was sane. Nobody else though, that I know of.

Here goes my caden-style rant: Why do I want to be staff? Well, honestly, I think that moderators are doing an amazing job, and not only are they helping out he community, but they're doing an amazing job with it I want to be a moderator because I think that I have seen the empire go through lots of stages, as I've been on EMC for quite the while, and I know that I have sufficient knowledge about the empire to be able to help it out lots. The empire is an amazing community filled with wonderful (fabulous) people, and we all want it to stay that way, so honestly, that's why I want to be moderator. Not for the residences or rupees or popularity, or the ability to kick myself for funny reasons and get into people's signatures, but instead to make EMC a better place (not saying that it's not amazing, just that there can never be enough wonderful stuff going on, and I always am interested in helping). Haha, did someone recommend me to be staff? Nope, ever since I joined the empire a long time ago, I wanted to be able to help out the community, because I thought it was a great place. If you're wondering you recommended me to EMC in the first place, it was my friend Kiaaka, or maybe it was Kiiaka.. Not sure but I've always desired to be a moderator/staff member.
