What about membership. We have never actually considered making membership mandatory for everyone. There may be some very good possible outcomes to that system. I don't have it worked out, but : Membership for everyone would solve a lot of problems with compliance. Vouchers for new players could be issued to allow anyone to join without a cash payment. Memberships could be made purchasable with rupees and so voting and login bonus could be about one days membership. This is a very complex system to set up and would be a big change but might be something to discuss. Maybe it's crazy, but I had a lot of reasonable solutions to issues this way, but cut them out because it was too long and I forgot how to make the spoiler.
I think what is being added is a very new kinda thing for us, and i feel that its going to be awesome, i cant wait
So could we do something of the sorts of Supporter+? You have supporter and cosmetic which should be 10 for supporter and 20 for cosmetic to keep it the way it is, but why not introduce a ++ rank of some kind that is more expensive but is mainly just to support EMC and won't give you too many perks more than whatever the equivalence to the 20$ perk is.

Must be difficult to have to come up with an entire new system, I don't think people really appreciate how devoted this server is.
You could also have access to endertopia a cosmetic. Also, could you all do individual perks, or is that against EULA?
but paying 10k for your vault having to cough up IRL money or waste tokens to rename what you already paid a lot for is kind of absurd lol
Sounds like a good plan. I think a reserved color for supporter names who do not purchase cosmetic would act as an advertisement to support. New players often ask why someone's name is a different color. This brings up the topic of supporting.
I personally find colored names distracting and annoying. I've been on MC servers where their chat is all colorful with flashy graphics and all you get is new players asking dumb questions about how to get their names all colored when that's not really the point of the game. I'd support keeping whatever color names we do on here very simple. I think if EMC keeps the level of gameplay up we'll keep membership.
So, we don't restrict any gameplay elements based on tiers of membership, nor will we split our playerbase into paying and nonpaying users. At the moment, we don't know how to do it, but until we find a way, unchanged. We can restrict gameplay element based things other than tiers of membership. Our playerbase may be divided into classes, but not split based on payment status. It's like saying it's not fair for one player to have more rupees than another or to have more diamonds or less time logged in. Players will make achievements in game based on their effort and commitment to EMC, not based on money, so the EULA compliance is just lip service anyway. It's impossible to run a server where everyone pays exactly the same and even Mojung's system is proof of that (one person pays monthly and anyone else can get a free ride). Eventually the people who have the most interest in the game/server will be investing the most 'cost'. Saying that the cost can't be translated into a dollar value is the same as saying that you can't have a privately owned and operated server -.-
What if you were to get supporter for awhile, and you claimed resses on utopia? Would you not have access to them anymore if you couldn't stay a supporter? EDIT: Will this start on August 1 or earlier?
Alright, with the Utopia thing. Mojang stated that you can charge a fee for a server (it can be a one-time thing) so why not just have that one time fee (the first supporter purchase) and they can go on Utopia whenever they would like?
I've already said in the main thread all PREVIOUS players will have "grandfather" access to Utopia, but the question is about new players. Though I don't think fine details like utopia letting free players access town would be reason for Mojang to go shutting us down over... There rules are based on opinion, and the PR disaster they would receive for "Shut down a server just because they let free players 'visit' the server" would be a nightmare for them. So, Utopia is going to stay as is and be a "Paying for access to use the server, but Free players have 'Guest' Access to Town", under the concept of "Free Trial"
i'm also agreeing with wkr, i HATE how other servers allow people to pick whatever color they want their name... its EXTREMELY distracting and annoying... EMC is so clean and tidy now, letting people pick colors will just be not good =\
Deal. If they both come to $10, will we have a choice? I hope it doesn't come to that, but if it does I would want to be able to choose.
So if I have a diamond subscription already, and the q/a says there will be a $5 discount if you continue it, does that mean I pay $15 per month?
