  1. I still don't understand why such names change in different languages... (the one I always think about: in German Martin Luther is just called his proper name, but in Dutch they change it to Maarten Luther for no apparent reason... Why change the name? It's incredibly confusing! And it's not like Martin is a weird name, apart from that it's just not, I know two people who are called Martin... it grinds my gears... :p)

    Anyways :p

An old Dutch "Blauwe Engel" (Plan X, DE2)! :D Doesn't "blauw" mean "blue"? Yes, yes it does. :D They were originally blue, but later painted yellow to fit the new NS colours. :)

    Ohhh another Tillig! :D

And finally the number on a, much less interesting, DIN page. :p

  2. Googling for 14760, I found 14761...

    And 14762...

    And 14763...

    I also found 72, 67, 66 and 68, but no 14760.

    Then this will do.

If you reuse the ワンマン for one of the next pictures, maybe try to find a different photograph of it. ;)

  3. :o I like those trains! :D

I know why we can't find the 14760: the wikipedia page (https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/富山地方鉄道14760形電車 - wow, that link is beautiful :p) (second paragraph, tab "overview") tells us that the 14760 was renumbered (that tends to happen a lot with trains, for some reason...) to 14770. :)

    Here is 14770, then: :D

What that wikipedia page also tells us, is that these trains have a maximum speed of 95 km/h (that isn't that much (relatively!)) and that they have 110 kW of power (from the main motor). That is less than our van from 2002. :p I mean, yes, it's only 1 kW less, but still, 110 < 111. :p And in general, that explains why it isn't that fast, wow, just 150 pk for an entire train of 38 tonnes, while our car is just 2 tonnes (with people in it). Interesting!

The wikipedia page also says that the white and grey trains above are the old livery, while the yellow and cyan trains are the new livery. Also interesting. :D

Here, the two next to each other. :)

I know that this isn't the right number, but isn't this picture just beautiful... what a majestic train. :D

And here is the right number, another picture of the 14761. :D

  8. Oh, I forgot to add the trains in my number!

And our cute trains over in Japan. :)

  9. This is supposed to be a damper and/or (?) muffler. I personally don't see how it could be that, but okay. :p

    Postleitzahlgebiet 14770. :)

And, of course, the awesome Japanese trains. :D They mixed the old and new colour, interesting!

Here are some more, honestly quite great, pictures of the Japanese trains. :) http://www.filmscan-print-s.com/0609-TITETU-TOP01.html

  11. "14774 PBD 776V Jeffs
Amsterdam 18-10-1980. Jeffs of Helmdon PBD 776V, Volvo B58 / Jonckheere Bermuda new in April that year."

    Old bus!

While searching for the train picture for this number, I found a picture of the inside of these trains! Interesting, there aren't any chairs at all in this part of the train!

And eventually, after searching long and hard, I did also find the 14774. :D
