Congrats on 5 years, that sure is a long time indeed! First: Don't enter me in the give away. In the highly unlikely chance that I do win then this might create a bad motivator for me, because why play if you can buy? Second: The moment which I recall very well was when you temporarily stepped down and still hung around and kept on playing. Which, to me, showed that you defined your own character and don't rely on that green name to do that for you. And I think that's a very important trait which, in my personal (private) opinion, isn't always the case with some others. It was a memorable moment for me because yah... Those things deserve respect in my opinion.

Personally reading this forum post I don't see a post from samsimx. It sounds to scripted, I miss the old sam bring him back.
I'd love to do something with music or design but I've sort of faced reality and settling for a job in marketing/communications. I'll get you a head, don't worry! Milk chocolate, dark isn't bad tho. I was born and raised on smp7 so I gotta go with that one... samsimx is just a mashup of my real life name crunched together = sam sim --- x Well would that pet be "safe"? If I could have a dragon or something that'd be kinda cool... or a griffin! One day cadenman2002 asked how he should spend a lot of his rupees and I jokingly said to him he should build a samsimx shrine so all of my followers can worship it. He then went out of his way to actually do so, and with the building of the shrine the "hail samsimx" chat spam grew. It eventually followed me off smp8 to every server where I couldn't join a server without 2-3 people always saying it! So most people think it's some cult following (which it is shh) but it's really just a long running joke. I always have had plenty of money to give away so I never thought that would be the problem but I wasn't sure if I'd be around for 5 years, or 4, or even 3! 5 years is such a long time to it's hard to imagine (1/4 of my life..), but I'm so happy I stuck around. Even from my infancy on EMC (first 100 days) I wanted to be a moderator. I always looked up to the staff team and thought that what they did was the coolest thing ever. I begged EdmundWayne (a super old mod) to join the staff team when I was like 30 days old like the noob I was back then, and look where I am today! (begging for staff confirmed to work) Oh boy these are some deep questions.. EMC has such a great community because of the players. The staff are great and run things behind the scenes pretty well (except when things get broken.. ) but the main reason EMC is so successful is because of the people who make up the community. If it wasn't for all the great, caring people that take time out of their day to make EMC what it is then we wouldn't all still be here. Vanilla Updates for me personally. Minecraft isn't my favorite game and I don't even follow the updates but when a new update is added to EMC it's so reinvigorating for everything, gameplay, economy, player count, etc. I think getting vanilla updates quick and working on EMC is important. At first I think I went through a power struggle, not that I was overly strict or oppressive on players, I just realized how much POWERRRR I had in my position. I still thought of myself as a player but now I had to think more critically and was in the public eye. If anything, joining the staff team only broadened my lens as a player and allowed for me to do more things in-game. The world ends? Death is just the end of life, everyone's gotta go some time. :/ I don't exist, I am a simulation. All clocks stop at the same time. I don't know what either of those are but xenomorph sounds like a cool word! I spend too much time watching memes. samsimx is just a mshup of my real name as I couldn't think of anything else. sam + sim + x = samsimx League of Legends or Pokemon Sun. Mostly LoL though. I really love rap & hip hop! I'm a big fan of Kanye West (EEEEK, I know), Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Migos.. lots of explicit rappers who live outrageous lifestyles, but hey, music is music. I think as a post-teenager I have finally passed that point in my life, but it definetely comes up sometimes if I get mad at video games The grind don't stop! I sold a lot of various things over my time here, mostly promos though. Promos are like free money Plagueis the wise? Have you ever heard the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise? A cobblestone box that I used as a house surrounded by various farms, melon, pumpkin, wheat, etc. Simpler times back then. I'm not leaving! Just giving back to the community that has given me so much. I HATE EGGS!
I do, you've gone through a few name changes tho, but I member you.. I actually not a big fan of food in general, but I do like rice.. very boring yes, but you can eat rice with almost anything. Wining an arena longbow was cool. Reaching my rupee milestone was also really enjoyable a few years ago (15 mil) and becoming staff is my all time favorite moment of EMC. Yeah I miss those days but I'd rather not dwell too much on the past as the future will be great too. But those times can never be matched, they were just that great. A few of my IRL friends told me about this place so I decided to join them one day. They all left shortly after I joined but I stuck around I have a dog and a cat I dearly love. My house has a top load washing machine while my college has front load, so I am torn here - I'm gonna have to go with top load though as I hate having to bend over to take my clothes out of the small front load door. A cobble box with a bunch of random farms around it, simpler times Diamond block, beacon or quartz - so perfect each and every one of them. I remember that actually! And I remember you for other things, like events and conversations on smp8. New additions to the game or new "extreme" projects that will require a lot of time. When EMC updates to new patches it's a great feeling, but that doesn't happen too often So in long times of no update I like to start huge projects and just grind my time away into them. (big mob farms, resource gathering, etc.) i am free from now til school starts in september :/ and getting a pc in like 2 weeks so i will soon be the BEST OVERWATCH PLAYER OF ALL TIME LOL same, I miss the old samsimx. (this post is completely scripted propaganda BTW)
Hmm what do I remember about Sam? Diamond pyramid outside of the mob arena, always having a lot of rupees, and overall being a great friend

Though I never got to know you as well as I'd have liked, I remember a brief conversation in which I was super jealous of your squid head (this was before those existed–all the MHF heads had been added for mobs except squids and golems, but we didn't know those two hadn't been added, so everyone–or maybe just me–just thought they were super rare to drop and maybe needed some special conditions on death or something) and sent you a whole paragraph asking how you got it with much enthusiasm and urgency. Your response: Turns out the squid head on your res was just a player skin, not a squid-dropped head. I also remember some good times working on The Twelve Months of Farming with you, you whipping me routinely in the old Mob Arena (always a joy), and, of course, having the opportunity to work with you as a staff member, which has been wonderful. I enjoyed reading your story up there (I always read big player origin story text walls) and am glad to see you've stuck with EMC for so long; it's definitely better as a result of you being here. Huge congratulations on five years of fun, and here's to much more in the future.
