Yes - Reset the non Town worlds WITH a weeks notice and special features during that time 399 vote(s) 89.5%
No - I want them all to stay the way they are now, do not reset 47 vote(s) 10.5%
  1. People who are talking about losing their work in the wild and complaining about it need to look at other inhabitants of the Wild who are sad to see their work will be lost but appreciate and understand it's a good decision for everyone if it happens.

I applaud those that fall on their sword for the wellbeing of the Community.

There should also be no exceptions for this reset - that includes Utopia.

"Hey, Utopia is a perk for Gold and Diamond but, ah, sorry, the Wild didn't get reset so it's kinda glitchy and a bit messy because we can't Reset the protected area and the new biomes are miles away.
    Enjoy!"

Doesn't make any sense to me to do that.

We're still phaffing around with things. I say we takeoff and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

If we don't do it 100%, we might as well not do it at all.
  2. In my single player world I didn't reset that to find a jungle, Why should we have to in multiplayer?
  3. Reset the wild! Reset the wild! I hate it when I'm looking for sandstone or sand and i walk out of the spawn area and there is a huge hole. I hate that!! Reset it Justin! Plus it will bring jungle biomes!
  4. There is still a ton of sand on utopia and most other worlds, you just have to go more then 15 blocks.

And we already have jungle biomes, Look on the live map, you'll see quite a few.
  5. That hole-instead-of-sand will be there again about 3 days after the reset. And the jungles around the spawn will be wiped in 2 days for saplings.

  6. It'll just be an infinite loop. Pretty much.
  7. I highly agree with all of you, the area outside the SPA is badly damaged and I belive that this will be a great improvement and will make it so that most new store owners can get started because all the resources wont already be mined. I say yes, yes sir-re! :D
  8. Because it's not just about a Jungle chunk.

This is about the Reset Area not working on SMP 1 -5 & Utopia

This is about glitching caused between the new chunks generated since the update

This is about the Nether glitch sending you to the roof bedrock

This is about numerous other small things which can all be fixed or at least improved with a reset.

  9. No reset would fix a glitch in the game with a reset area.

    Then regenerate those areas?

    Then reset the nether?

There's no need to destroy hundreds of days of work just so others can walk between biomes without having a bit of lag.
  10. i will start demolishing my wild farms and houzes

  11. JustinGuy has said that a full reset would allow the changes to be put in place for the other SMP's to have a working Periodic Reset Area.

    Unless I've misunderstood.

At the end of the day, there is a lot of rubbish out there in the Wilderness that could be wiped and who knows, maybe it'll have a beneficial effect on the server? I know I've got chests lying around which I've forgot the location of that are full of items which all have a space on the database. There must be thousands of such instances.

Hundreds of days of work are just that, days. We've got plenty more ahead of us. Start again.

I leave behind a Village which I've built up considerably, a Mob Farm (wild and nether) and numerous other smaller projects.

I relish the prospect of starting again with a new map.

  12. I guess the wild is gona reset.
Tough call but it seems reset won
  13. There is every reason to have a civil discussion on the matter.
The majority of the community votes to reset the wilderness.
Those who have chosen to live in a world of false security are of course going to be upset by the idea of reality creeping in on them.
The reason I agree with the reset is to implement the features that Justin has coded that do not function without the reset. Periodic-Reset-Areas for smp1, smp2, smp3, smp4, smp5 and Utopia do not currently have a core seed to restore their PRAs to. A reset would create one.
Also, the "forcefield" barriers and the height changes have made the Wilderness/Nether impassable and not vanilla.
From the very beginning it has been stated that we would have a vote and discussion and that all wild dwellers will have ample warning and opportunity to relocate to the city for a seed reset.

Resetting the wilderness will refill the craters outside of spawn for a while, but not permanently.. We know this can't be avoided. The purpose is not for a "resource replenishment".. It is intended to repair the bugs in the terrain generation.

This is a Community, not a single player experience. As apamment has quoted Spock, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
Just remember what you agreed to when you joined Empire Minecraft:

    Wilderness

This is the normal world (Overworld) on each SMP server. This is where you adventure to find resources. You can go anywhere and build anything you like, however your stuff is not safe like it is in Town. Please respect what other players have built, those caught griefing will be banned.

  14. I would only say yes if we have a little more time before the reset, lets say two weeks?
  15. There is a HUGE disadvantage to waiting on the reset. Everyone who has wild communities are now stuck in a period of "can't do what we would like to do, because it'll just be deleted in a week anyways". People are unable to play the game in a way that is fun to them.

also, with /vault access it will be quick to get goods out using another server.

If your a supporter with 2 res's, simply go to the wild, /vault your stuff, then go to other server and unload it, then repeat.

As you are not a supporter, I understand this is trickier. If you have any friends you can trust on other servers, see if they will let you have container/build permissions or set up a bunch of chest with access signs for you to use.

Actually, I'll offer that as a service. I have an empty utopia lot. If anyone sees me online and will supply me the wood to make chest/signs, i'll setup chests for people on my utopia lot (non supporters can still access utopia town).

I'm on every evening from 7-12~ PM EST, and some during lunch. home server is SMP2. Come on SMP2 and send me a tell when you have the materials ready AT utopia (ie don't waste my time please :p )

  16. As I just said with my previous post, delaying the reset adds more injury to people with wild colonies.

With /vault and the chest service i'm offering, it will be very simple to get your goods out of the wild.

  17. Yes maybe there should be more time but that would also represent more people abusing the free vault.
And as for the reset area i think that when it reses u should hav a programm that eliminates the ores and other valuable resources as this causes a constant amount of those products without having to wander out and it also makes them renewable
  18. How about one week and 3 days? That would be good for my camp.
  19. And that's a problem why? :p

  20. If there was no ores, they might just be making the safe zone larger.
