smp7 - jungle outpost

  1. Hey there fellow Empire players! I am a friend of poster above and i am also interested in joining the outpost and setting up a comfy home, if possible I would like to be neighbors with gamerlord48.
  2. Hi!

You can build everywhere where there is no existing build already.
If it is close to an existing build please just ask about that area again to avoid conflicts. Also note that jungle areas are a bit protected (aka we try to not cut down all the trees and go more for treehouse style there).

One way would be to take over a griefed area. Under certain conditions (owners not active, area griefed for a awhile etc) we try to reuse them. As we still will try to contact the original owners this can take some time and communication skills.

Actually the best way is to build somewhat more "far off" as projects tend to expand. Like mba's proposed university thing. You can start your own district with the two homes. People probably will be curious and visit, bring gifts or offer help. Then either expand or invite other LLOers or new players to it. We are pretty good at connecting those new districts with rails, paths and bridges then.

If you want to explore a bit more first but still want to have a home here I am sure there are rooms you can have in an existing build too.

  3. lolz, maybe the LLO can help find a solution on my project, as to where it should be in terms of smps...

  5. Alright, thanks zulu9! Just to be certain, within the gigantic walls surrounding the area is considered "LLO Territory" correct? I'm liking that swamp ravine in the northwest as a starting point for some supported houses :)

  7. Ah thanks. The post explains the complexity much better. It is possible to reclaim griefed areas I think (esp if we can for example prove it was a community area or on some form "donated" to the LLO community I guess) but as a default you will need permission from the owner / builder.

As for what counts as "LLO territory" the wall is a good estimate but there are areas like the (not active?) umbrella corp and probably other stuff that do themselves not think of part of LLO. It actually is kinda fuzzy.

Most accurate way to describe it would IMHO be something like that:
Stuff in the area connected by rails and paths and whatnot. And the people building the stuff communicate on this thread and in game with LLO as keyword.

There are parts that are well connected even outside the walls.
As for your suggested building place can you post it on the map or show someone ingame?

  8. Also we should check our FAQs etc if we have anything in there that would be against that rule.
We do not have many rules but regarding griefed stuff we might have some things in there.

Just checked and it is fine. We might want to update it with a link to the rule and what it means for the LLO.

What I wonder is what this means for big projects that might involve many people (like the epic bridge that even connects to another outpost project). I hope those are the "rare cases" mentioned in the rule.

Last but not least we might need to add one more thing except saying "hi" here:
    Saying "goodbye" too.
Meaning: If you leave you will at least be so nice and give us notice and allow us to take the areas.
  9. The LLO website deserves a bit more publicity. Also, it deserves a bit of a revamp. I might look into re modelling it a bit.

  10. yes i can post a screen shot of the live map when i get home to my laptop (phone sucks).
  11. build location.png the circled area is the area where i would like to build, nothing too big, just a standard minecraft base with all the essentials of survival :) Unless genobeegx wants to start a colony, in which case we would expand some. But I will be mindful of other buildings in the surrounding areas :D
  12. That should be ok. Just be mindful of the forest as we will be expanding through it a bit soon.

  13. Will do :D I will expand towards the snowy biome most likely, so it shouldn't be an issue.

  14. Ok, so you know that long, very high bridge from spawn to the great wall? there is a section that is basically a suicidal spiral staircase, that some people (mostly me) tend to fall off of, and I would like to ask if it is ok if i make that into a ladder chute. just a straight ladder with blocks on the sides to prevent falling, to replace the stairs. It would make it easier for all travelers to get up and down without the fear of jumping 1/2 of a block to far :D

  15. What bridge?
Last time we had a bridge to LLO from spawn was when I joined…I think. (Which was a long time ago)

  16. Same...
There is a nether portal that takes you to a Nether path to town :)

  17. Yes, still going....

  18. You must be talking about the remains of an old one. We had someone build one a few months ago, that was after pen tried one :p

We don't really like having a bridge to the LLO, so it's best you didn't use it...

  19. And that post was totally necessary…
Was it in the sky and had dirt? (Think I remember a bridge that reached the wall, but it didn't go to spawn)
Hey, hey, hey, I was misinformed at the time >.>
  20. yes it is the long dirt bridge that ends up at one of the bastions along the wall. and it isnt really *at* spawn, but begins at an island a short swim away. and mba2012 I will refrain from using it if it isnt a good idea, it was just a convenient method for safely shuffling supplies :D maybe the spiral steps of dooms should stay to help keep griefers out then lol
