Full Server

  1. Should probably be site visit sessions instead if they count as logged in as long as their cookies still exist.

  2. I have realised that when i try and join the server when it says 38 or 40/45 people it always says the server is full :( ,
    why does this happen?

sorry if this is wasting your time or anything i would just like to know
-- Maxi the guy who wants to be atleast an iron supporter :(
  3. There is a chance you are seeing the server player count shortly after a few people have disconnected. They are given a 2 minute grace period during which they can reconnect unconditionally.
  4. Does that mean we won't have to worry about our residence if we try to log in and can't get in? Because I only log on Fridays and the weekends because of real life. Now I can't get in, and my budget leaves me no room to be a supporter.
  5. It makes me sad to here that some people can’t or won’t pay to support the server when they spend so much time on it. With most jobs out there it takes about 30min to get five dollars. Now let’s think about this for a second, if it only takes five dollars (to become an iron supporter) witch is equivalent to 30min of you time. Wouldn’t it make since to pay the five dollars for something at gives you hours and hours of fun every month?
  6. No actually not, some people are very budgeted and dont have alot of money to spend. Why pay to be a supporter when u can just play for free. I would rather (if I had $5 spare each months, or what ever the value) and instead of putting it towards a game we have already payed for... save the money up and buy a game like MW3 or any other proper game that you can get hours and hours and hours and hours of fun every month for eternity! Its not fare that supporters get entry, why should we pay to play a game that we have already payed for?
  7. You're paying to help the server that you enjoy (if you don't enjoy the server, why play it or pay).

The server is a unique experience that I have never had any place else. $5 is what buying a pack of gum and a drink one time less a month. so, I say again you're paying for the experience of the server and to help out with the server you enjoy.

  8. Its not that I dont enjoy the server, I do strongly, But you also have to consider that not every body is in america, so the exchange rate is a pain in the rear... as well as not many people use pay pal and that can be a pain in the rear too. You are biased because u urself are a suporter, you couldnt care less if other people cant join the server... so why even say anything?
  9. I personally see no need to support a server until I get to know the community. It is just like dating, you can't jump in feet first, you have to take it slow.. Until I get enough time to get to know the community and play the server, I can't justify any amount of money per month.. The perks are balanced, however, I can not feel justified in earning them without the opportunity to experience the core of the server first...

The arguments on both sides are valid. However, I have to side with those who do not pay or can not pay to play this server. (For their lack of opportunity to make such a decision without being properly involved.)
Of course, the supporters are going to be biased, they have grown to love the server and the community, so they will agree supporters should be granted their perks. However, it should not be forced upon others for that reason alone.
  10. I couldnt agree more with you. :)
  11. That was not me being bias, what you described is exactly my point, when you like the server you subscribe.
  12. no not really... when u like the server you keep playing... not paying. Having the "suporters get access bladi bladi bla" hinders my game time pn the server... So are you basically saying that the admins did this just to get money... cus it sure as hell looks that way!
  13. what i'm gettin from this is you want everyone else to pay for you to play you dont want them gettin money for the server but you expect them to keep it up and goin with what?

you don't want to pay to play on the server that is fine don't but don't complain when you can't get on

i still don't get why you seem to think it should be free? you paid for the game which you got till minecraft hosts an official server the only part you really bought was the single player game
you can't really expect for people to pay and host a server and give you 100% unconditional access whenever you want
  14. NO I am not saying that everybody else should pay for me to pay... Justin decided to start the server on his own accord... so he should pay for it.... yes suporters are there to help him with it... BUT i dont see why they should get on when others cant... not really fair
  15. I should be free because I am not the one who decided to start the server!!
  16. Why should someone else (myself) have to pay a ton of money and work hard so someone else (you) can reap all the benefits for nothing? That logic is like saying that I bought my computer, the Internet should be free. Or why the hell do gas stations charge me for gas, I already paid for my car! You can play MC for free, forever. Empire Minecraft is just a community that got together and decided that we wanted something more in a server than we could find elsewhere.

The rest can be explained in my original response:

  17. now that u put it that way it makes sense.... it was just getting to me that I cannot connect at all now... I fear that my res is going to be reset, and ive put alot of time and effort into it.
  18. This is exactly why I think schools should teach mandatory money management. To many people think that money grows on trees and that the world should just give them everything for nothing.

Let me ask you a legitimate question. When you bought Minecraft, where did it give you a guaranty that you would be granted free access to servers paid for by others out of their own pockets 100% of the time? I seem to have missed that part. I can understand being upset, as yes we have become a great server, but insinuating that we are doing this "for the money" is very disrespectful to us.

I PROMISE you, the money coming in from supporters hasn't and couldn't even cover 10% of what Justin has PERSONALLY put in out of his own pocket. I hate to break it to you, but even if we did not have a supporter program and took in $0.00 outside funds, we would STILL have a limit of 45 people right now, and you still wouldn't be able to get in 100% of the time. This isn't based on what we want. If it were TECHNICALLY possible, we would let an infinite amount of people on whenever they wanted. Anyone with even basic knowledge of computers understands why this is impossible. So, before you go around making assumptions about things, I ask that you first get the facts.

While you're sitting there trying to make negative comments about the supporters, I want you to realize this. Without the money coming in, we'd probably be at around a 45 person limit...forever. Because, some people are generous enough to donate to us we're now working on getting a more powerful server so that we can add more slots for the FREE players. If we were doing this for the money, please tell me why we would allow ANY free players? We wouldn't; we would state that we are a pay server. At any given time, 30-40 of the people in the game are free players.

@Twitch1: I completely agree with your statement. I don't want you to come in thinking that we are money hungry or anything, and I hope you got that out of my little rant up there. We don't expect new people, or anyone for that matter, to pay us a dime to play here. But unfortunately, technology costs money, so we have to make due with what we can. Those that do decide to help the Empire grow are appreciated and we will give them their added perks for doing so. We won't however, force anyone to pay a dime to ever play here, they just sometimes have to wait a little longer.

    Thanks. :)
  19. I will not reset your res, I know people worked very hard on them and it would be mean to get rid of it! I am working to change the rules so that visiting the site counts as "logging in", until then I am only resetting banned players res's (after one week). Also I always message people on the site at least 2 days before I reset their res (if they are a member on the site).
