Hi, it's me again! A Minecraft Movie has been coming for a long time, but today I think we see a trailer for the first time. On YouTube it's called a teaser, but it actually shows several scenes from the film. What do you think? I'm not positively impressed.
I would have highly preferred it would have been animated. In my opinion, the movie looks like it was made by people who've never actually played Minecraft and think they know what makes the game special and fun for us all. But instead they made a cash grab with a profitable IP attached to it. I'm still gonna watch it regardless, maybe it won't be so bad... [doubt]. EDITED: cause my grammar sucked
I think… nah, after watching the trailer, it doesn’t deserve any more neuron/hours i’ll give it that it’s so bad that it could be hilariously bad, which might actually make it a hit
Care to share? It's not public anymore, after all. (I'm assuming you use some browser plugin? Or can you see it in the html source?)
I just clicked on the video you posted, must be blocked in your country because I can still access it just fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (I use Firefox by the way) In other news, looks like Charlie uploaded a video. I'll have to listen to this when I get to work today. Curious if SomeOrdinaryGamers will have his video up today; curious what he has to say as well.
One, it should have been animated. Two, I'm so sick of Jack Black playing as Jack Black. He needs to stay out of video game movies. Three, get rid of the real humans. Will I see this in theaters? No.
My cold take. Is just that I am okay with everything with the art choices... except for the fleshy human characters. I am okay with the phenomenon of getting sucked into another world... But I think when that happens, those characters should take on the art style of the destination 'world'. There are countless examples in cartoons of crossovers where the characters go to that other show's style. Those are great. So weird to have normal humanoids in this blocky world. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE "STEVE" WHICH IS CANONICALLY THE BLOCKY PERSON... HUH!!!! sorry, got a little off the rails there. Anyway. The movie doesn't need completely reworked. I just want to see the flesh creatures replaced with some type of more blocky animation. Surely can keep the rest of the script and voice work. But... We haven't seen the movie to know what exactly the story is to make that call definitively.
meanwhile league of legends drop it trailer for it's second season, coming november truly excited about that one (pointing this out cause it is curious two game-into-movie trailers dropped the same week
I remember watching the Fairly OddParents: Channel Chasers and the Jimmy Neutron crossovers when they came out on tv. I remember being excited to see how each character would look in the different worlds. That was great to watch and still is!
I feel young again. That was dope when it aired on TV for the first time. Such a shame that became of Fairly Oddparents though. I will still remember all the awesome memories I had when I watched it as a kid!
Has all the artistic quality of a Clash of Clans trailer with absolutely none of the charm. Animals look particularly horrifying. Not a fan at all of real people being greenscreened into cartoon worlds. Looks stupid. I like Jack Black. He’s like your cringey, childless, unmarried, weirdo uncle who thinks he’s hilarious when in actuality he isn’t funny at all. I enjoy that shtick. I will watch it for Jack Black. None of these things are positives. A 24 year old who has played Minecraft since he was 10 years old and still enjoys movies like How To Train Your Dragon, Despicable Me, etc. should be excited to watch a Minecraft movie. I am repulsed by it. I thought maybe I just wasn’t the target audience but my 12 year old brother thinks it looks stupid too.
Let's hope it pulls a 'Five Night's at Freddy's' movie and be so bad it loops back to being a masterpiece again
I know they wont do it, but I really wanna see them put in some nods to the more technical side of the game. It would hilarious to see a massive villager trading hall or multiple massive farms included.
Oh, I'd say that's not that bad! But it is not unlikely that less people use the dislike button since the like to dislike ratio is not displayed anymore, I suppose. I'm curious what you mean by this. I don't follow films much and I only know Jack Black from playing Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. I just rewatched the trailer in the OP, and he says "I am Steve", not "I am Jack Black", so I don't understand you!
Yes, a browser extension is required to view the dislike quantities. Users of the extension, have data sent back to the creator of the extension. And then they send back to the user an extrapolated guess on what the dislike count is, based on the ratio. In other words. It is a guess based on data of the users of the extension. It has been reported by content creators that the dislike count is often inaccurate - but we would have no way to know that for this case. There's gotta be some bias in collecting data from people that care even remotely what the like/dislike ratio is.
Wow, okay! Thanks for clarifying. Then I think it will depend greatly on the video and its audience how accurate the count is. But my point about people not clicking dislike because it doesn't show up anyway expires!
Eh... I don't prefer that. But then again my only issue was the humans. I don't think making it look like in-game is the play.
