To reset or not to reset? Remember to READ.

Yes, I want the reset. 36 vote(s) 30.8%
No, I don't want the reset. 81 vote(s) 69.2%
  1. -_- Sorry, as this may have not been interpreted right. What I am basically saying is, people who dont support the update will be like,"Ugh, I am upset because If the wild resets all my hard-earned virtual items that I can get back with the right effort will be gone." So if we do reset we will announce it and then say that it will be reset in x days, so go get your stuff!
  2. PS:
If I say: We need to take your house down to build a highway that the majority voted for and we will give you a period to get your stuff and help you relocate the best we can.
Seem more fair to me. They did the free vault egging etc so the reset would be less hurtful. And nobody will be able to argue the same way if the question will be to make the servers survive an update to a new MC version or not.
  3. That is true but I think it meant they had to reset the wild with updates but will ensure the town will survive. Which I guess takes a lot of work to make it compatible sometimes.
I don't think they meant they will just more or less randomly reset the wild. Also they might just mean that creepers can always blow up your stuff and you should not bother mods asking to repair anything.
  4. The thing is, you can lose things, but gain something waaay better! I mean, sure you'd lose a nice grinder or nice farm, but wont there still be more of those?
  5. Sure. But there still can be plenty more of those without a reset. The wilds are vast! The LLO is expanding and we only take as much space as the PRA at the moment. And this is just one thingy on one server not that far away from a main spawn.

  6. I'd rather not travel a long distance to collect x amount of new ores
  7. The only new ore added will be emerald and you can get that from villagers.
  8. :p The villagers that dont exist cause their villages got griefed? which could be fixed with the reset... lol
  9. No. By the villagers that get bred and egged by many people..... m(
Since when are villagers are rare resource?

  10. Okay, im a little biased on this as im a town dweller, and rarely go into the wild, but it strikes me that we can make this a little clearer.
Simply put, if we reset the wild, we should reset towns as well.

Now before you kick off and say there's no need, and there's too much to lose, STOP and think for a second because that's the exact way the wild dwellers feel about this reset.

Personally im for the reset, as i want something new to experience, hell im even thinking about going to live in the wild myself, both before and after the reset (if it happens).

p.s. sorry id i repeated something another has said, i simply wish to get my view across and dont have time to read 10-11 pages.
  11. Fail-proof plan:
    1) Go to a shop in town
    2) get villager eggs
    3) trade with them
    4) unlimited emeralds

    problem solved

  12. I can see your point, but don't forget that the wilderness was never meant to replace the town. But on the other hand, there are a LOT of residences that haven't been reset by the derelict policy and it is becoming really cluttered.
BUT, what about people who can't afford to have their residences reset...

    hmm...what to do...
  13. No such thing as can't afford to have it reset, the wild whether reset or not offers everthing we own for free.
  14. I'm talking about people who have HEAPS of chests FULL of items that are a LONG way away from spawn and CANNOT possibly get them all back to town in time and it would take a LOT of time to get it all back. And what about the MEGASTRUCTURES and shops in town?

Who comes off best here? noone
    Get the picture?
  15. I am going to say one final thing. GO ON AN ADVENTURE. The other day I walked out about 600 extra blocks went mining and found over 2 stacks of iron, half a stack of gold, a few diamonds, some lapis, 5 stacks of coal, and 2 stacks of redstone. Its not hard to find resources, but take the time to walk a little bit out further. The wild is still very much untouched as well its almost infinite, so take a boat or some speed II potions and go a little further because you will all start complaining again that it is hard to find ore in 3 weeks time. Justin loaded 5k blocks around each outpost so that you won't lag. So go out mining far out not 10 blocks out of the spawn and complain about finding nothing.

  16. Morning :)

I disagree with this so much. This is the only argument that the wild people seem to be making.

Don't take my stuff away because, you can do extra work so I can sit comfy and not do any. Yet, the town folk are the lazy ones?

It, currently, takes about 20 minutes to put yourself into a truly unexplored area. Or, into the black as I have heard it called. What about the folks who just don't have hours to spend on MC. If you only get to play 1-3 hours a day (or every couple days) a 20 minute walk (just to get resources) can be a big deal. Not to mention, the time to get the resources, then get them safely back home. Then lets say, said person is walking home and gets blown up by a creeper. Can you understand how daunting this could be?

Remember - truly we are not talking diamonds, gold, and lapis here. We are talking actual building materials - trees, clay, sand, and stone. Things people have needs (not wants) for. These are not extravagances and they should be more accessible to the people who want to use them in town. Do you have any idea how much walking it takes to get to a desert with sand still in it? At least 10-15 minutes. This really does hurt the server.

This debate really goes nowhere though.

I want what I want - so you will never have an argument that wins me over.
You want what you want - so I will never make an argument that wins you over.

Its a really pointless endeavor. So why don't we talk middle ground? I've thrown out my idea of what I think a compromise would be. Lets hear some ideas from the other side - instead of just running circles with arguments.

  19. Not everyone wants to use the economy - or has the money to do so. Right now villager breeding is impossible. In town and wild. Villager eggs are (a) a limited resource and (b) going to rise sky high in price.
  20. Not town mt response once again:
    ARE YOU MAD!?!!?!
