The FRNS denies that it knew anything before the report. The guys in charge of the submarine that shadowed the Yi Sun-Shin lied to the necessary FRNS authorities and they have been dishonourably discharged and imprisoned. The last year of the sub's movements and commands have been released to the public, showing that they were ordered not to attack anything at all and were merely documenting the movements of HMKX boats. The HMKX have been aggressive with boat placements in recent years and for all the FRNS knew the Yi Sun-Shin was operating under a guise of humanitarian aid. The families of anyone hurt or killed in the torpedoing must be compensated and the President and Prime Minister of the FRNS would like to visit them all and assure them that justice is done. Meanwhile, the Baltic States have been admitted into the European Commonwealth. Negotiations have, in secret, been finished with Ukraine: they receive European money to develop themselves in exchange for a military alliance and eventual admission into the Commonwealth once the HMKX stops interfering.
With the agreement signed by The Empire and UNAFR and NPAT which would see an avoidance during a war in Europe, that brings complications. First off, the agreement states that The Empire will not attack NPAT countries or the UNAFR during the course of war if they do not attack either. This means that during a war, the EC would be unhelped by the UNAFR, unless an attack would provoke them. The thing is, Romania and Greece are both NPAT and EC members. This means that during a war, the EC will be pulled into it, meaning two NPAT members going to war with The Empire, which means the UNAFR being dragged into a war. NPAT wants a meeting with the EC and The Empire. What should be done during a war with HMKX vs EC? Should Romania and Greece abandon their brothers in the EC? Or should they fight a war and abandon their NPAT siblings? We need a proposal. A vote will also be held after both proposals are made.
OEO calls them out on one thing, and HMKX on another. They are lying, and refusing to acknowledge that this was a very bad accident. HMKX records show that HMKXS Yi Sun-Shin was in international water, while FRNS records show HMKXS Yi Sun-Shin was in FRNS waters. This means FRNS either was wrong or was right, and that they either torpedoed the ship out of concern or hate. HMKXS Yi Sun-Shin has been running humanitarian missions for years now, and there was little reason to torpedo the thing. It seems probable that the captain lied/was ordered to misidentify the ship as one of her larger sisters. This conversely has angered HMKX further; FRNS is being a coward. China is more amenable to negotiation, but conversely India is angrier. They want a chance to get revenge on their colonial masters; to humiliate them. This is the exact opposite of what they really want, and they know that FRNS is doing this because they are afraid. OEO calls HMKX out on being so irrational; what are they doing? Do they want a fight (yes)? Do they want the ruination of the European Commonwealth (yes)? If war comes out of this, OEO will not back either side. Zhao has lost some of his popularity following this response. Sokolov is emerging as an increasingly viable candidate, as she appeals to both sides. She, in an attempt to calm the people shouting for war has promised to embargo phosphorus and rare earth minerals. This is important, because Morocco, the nation that has 70% of the world's reserves is an HMKX ally. China, with 5% is a HMKX component state. Finland, with 3% is also a HMXK ally. A lot of the World's Phosphorous reserves are under HMXK and co. control. This means that even UNAFR and their allies cannot provide sufficient Phosphorous for FRNS and the EC.
HMKX proposes a clear idea; Greece, being an existential threat to the HMKX Empire's survival due to being a threat to Turkey, which ensures the survival of the Western Empire can be invaded and subjugated if EC is to use it as its meat puppet. However, all subsequent rebuilding of Government will be handled by NPAT. HMKX will not stop them. Romania, being a minor threat to Black Sea shipping will not be invaded in any way. Instead, any and all attack will simply be defended against. For example, should Romania deploy a Cruiser to sink shipping, HMKX is justified in sinking the Cruiser but not in bombarding the shipyard it was made in. It will be annoying, but it'll work. One condition. If Greece or Romania uses UNAFR property to attack HMKX, said property will be relegated to the respective nations so HMKX isn't standing around getting attacked.

There will be no war, for now. However, she has made good on her promise. She, just as much as anyone is angry at FRNS's erratic behavior and cowardice. In addition, she has uncovered something very interesting in Ukraine, their good buddy for years now. FRNS now has zero Rare Earth Minerals (important for electronics, complete HMXK monopoly) and very little Phosphorous (very important fertilizer, semi-HMKX and co. monopoly). President Sokolov secretly tells FRNS this is HMKX striking back against FRNS's shenanigans in Eastern Europe, and that they should ditch the Ukrainian alliance should they want their Rare Earth Minerals back. HMKX has provided generous benefits on Ukrainian food (HMKX imports vast amounts of Ukrainian food in order to reduce dependence on Bosporus Strait) trade and beefed up military benefits for them. HMKX is generously distributing benefits to Eastern European states, with HMKX offering investments in many areas. HMKX is saying "why are you siding with them? You've got a Superpower on your doorstep that's willing to help!" Secretly they're saying "dude. we have a giant army on your doorstep and we are your #1 export partner. think carefully." Ukraine seems to have come to its senses. It has realized maybe pissing off its #1 export partner, Global Superpower that could steamroll it in a month, and #1 arms exporter to them is a very bad idea. EC weapons are not fit for Ukraine nor do they have any experience with such weapons, and no one imports food on a massive scale like HMKX does. Basically, if they piss HMKX off, they're doomed. They've broken off the alliance. Whoever negotiated it with the EC was a complete lunatic.
The UWE sends naval ships to Australia. With this they send around 50,000 men. For what? Well to expand! This is official and the UWE is sending troops to Australia in hopes of annexing it. The UWE promotes thier values and "utopia" to Australia in hope of it being easier to annex. This lowers the UWE's military in Europe to about 400,000. With this the UWE can help in any European affairs. And still have presence in Australia. The UWE hopes to set up a naval base and an aircraft base in Autralia to increase military. They also will take Australia's natural resources when it is officially theirs. The population of Australia might be angered by this,but with the troops their any chances of rebellion or resistance will be crushed. This is the UWE's first official try at annexing. (Might be repetitive but ignore Switzerland) The UWE also passes a law involving their military. This states that anyone from the age of 20-35 must join any part of the armed forces. This ups the 400,000 to about 600,000. And requires anyone who doesn't join in the age group to work in factories producing military goods.
HMKXS Zhuge Liang has been sent to defend Australia from the Invaders. HMKX is willing to assist UFOS for the sake of their old alliance, even if UFOS may not be entirely faithful. The Supercarrier with Escort is threatening action if UWE continues. It's not doing anything right now, but if UWE continues it will be forced to. HMKX defines this as a Police Action to defend its ally from enemies, but HMKX will let UFOS do most of the fighting. It's their land.

The UWE stops thier forces from advancing, they decide to try to negotiate instead of fight. The UWE is still trying to stay out of War, even though they joined an alliance. The production of certain items is only for defence Note:What counties do UFOs own? I thought it was New Zealand, not Australia.
Then the UWE might have to withdraw their forces. They will still try to negotiate, and try to get any part of land near that area. The UWE withdraws one ship for the sake of keeping peace.
I made this map specifically for you. You may have missed it. All countries in red are basically free to colonize without upsetting anyone really. You could go to New Zealand. Don't be scared by UFOS, they bark more than they bite honestly. Thailand is great too, lots of resources and a former USA colony. (There was a player who played previously, but when he decided to leave he changed his country name to the USA and abandoned Thailand. It's yours for the taking, and since the UNAFR has a huge presence near Thailand, it should be easy.) Africa is the hotspot for natural resources, as well as the Stans Mozambique and Tajikistan has Aluminum, Tanzania, Burkina Faso and Kyrgstan has gold, Botswana has Diamonds, Zimbabwe has Platinum, Zambia has Copper, Mauritania has Iron, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan has crude oil, Bangladesh has gas, petroleum and oil Papa New Guinea has Petroleum and Ore mining potential The central American countries are basically just cloth and coffee makers. No use for them. Countries I personally would colonize: Mauritania, amazing potential for mining loads of iron, gold and other minerals. Thailand, tons of rich natural resources, as well as previously being a US Colony, it still has a high functioning democracy and a well-run economy. It is also very close to Malaysia, an NPAT member and a hot spot for UNAFR ships, where their navy dominates large areas. Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan or Kyrgstan. The main reason is crude oil and gold. Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, because of Diamonds, Platinum, and gold. Also, when you annex countries make sure to go by the "steps rule." Instead of invading a country with one post, say something like "The UWE will annex Thailand in 6 posts." 6 posts as in everyone else in the game, not only your own. You would be surprised how fast the game can move sometimes, 6 posts go by quick. I hope this helped, remember Natural resource giants give a great opportunity.
The UNAFR is urging FRNS to step up their military game. They have so much potential to produce large amounts of military equipment, yet they don't bother. For God's holy name they even announced a supercarrier and never built it!!! If FRNS and EC would just push a bit more effort into enforcing a military they could have a better chance at defending against the HMKX Empire. Seriously, you have so many opportunities to great massive armies, yet it never happens. During a war, the UNAFR won't defend you, because we can't, we are literally stuck with a deal saying that we cannot join a war between the EC and HMKX unless attacked upon, but during that war, we will keep our peace. You could have built the Challenger, you could have made thousands of aircraft, multiple cruisers, you could have started applying missile and artillery systems but only did that in small scales. Seriously, if you make the EC basically one nation of power, you're looking at 20 million men, whom of which could easily be fed by UNAFR farms, considering agriculture is a huge part of the UNAFR. Imagine a massive army, and you're getting food from another country... Pure equilibrium.
Alt and I are both operating under the assumption FRNS built those Supercarriers. Currently, HMKX wants a fight because now, it's personal. Palestine was a faraway land: Hong Kong? Closer. Russia? Closer yet. Now this? A direct attack on a HMKX Supercarrier? They've been mostly dragged into fights, and gotten out at the the first opportunity. But now, they are wanting a fight, because it's personal. Now, it's about their lands, their people, not some faraway middle east.
OOC and I'm going to bed now so I can't respond to any rare earth drama, but yeah when I announce something that'll be built by whatever year, just assume everything went ahead as planned. I'm too forgetful to remember to confirm I've built it and when I do post something in here I get distracted with other in-game stuff. The FRNS is still dedicated to the 1880 law of 'have a navy as big as the next two largest combined' - it's constantly trying to match up to that even if it has fallen behind the HKMX and UFOS, and it does have the supercarriers (still have to name them oops).
The Rare Earths are very important. You kind of need them to make electronics, and HMKX has effectively cut off their supply. HMKX has also severely reduced the supply of Phosphorous, a vital fertilizer. HMKX has leveraged the best of its resources to hurt FRNS, and they intend to continue leveraging it. HMKX is one of the few nations of the world that are nearly self-sufficient (FOOD COUGH COUGH thanks Belac) in the way of everything, another being UFOS due to their Australian annexation, giving them vast stores of minerals, and now they have Oil too. UNAFR also kind of counts due to their smaller population and near-self sufficiency. The world is at HMKX's mercy for Rare Earths, but HMKX generously provides to UNAFR and UFOS with no tariffs. Even during the Mediterranean war, HMXK provided to then-TUN these important elements, with heavy tariffs. That's how much they valued its importance. That they're completely cutting them off to FRNS should signal just how angry they are. They want a fight, because now, as I said HMKX feels that FRNS refuses to respect it, and outright threatens its existence by waving around threats of an invasion of Istanbul. They feel existentially threatened, and they are willing to break this threat in two. India's suspicions are growing and growing, they are trying to make sense of FRNS's behavior. But they cannot, and it's angering them. HMKX's new fancy particle accelerator is open, after some delays and running a bit over-budget. However, it runs as sweet as a nut and is making discoveries. HMKX has invited UNAFR and UFOS Scientists to analyze the boatloads of data coming from the thing, because there is wayyy too much. HMKX has also requested a Tri-Presidential summit of UNAFR, UFOS and HMXK in Seoul, Pyeongyang, Beijing, Ulaanbaatar, New Delhi, and concluding in Moscow. HMKX will put on full display its multicultural and tolerant nature (in truth, HMKX is only held together by mutual interest and large degree of independence of individual regions in peacetime). HMKX is also willing to send their President, Miss Sokolov to tour UNAFR cities, such as the Big Apple and maybe eat a Burger (definitely eat a Burger).
The UWE nows they cant take this place over, or negotiate for any land because of the resources in Australia. The UWE still has ships in the ocean near Australia. They will not attack anyone, but their are still looking for land around the Australia area.
