You will think the outcome, if very disadvantageous, was fair. HMKX has broken the back of TUN's destroyer force, but broken their own big stick. HMKX may have greater industrial capability, but cruisers are harder to build owing to their bigger displacement. The HMKX Army has swept into Palestine with a second wave of 300,000 soldiers, this time with a much larger portion of mechanized and artillery support. The battles go... not badly, not well. The TO-4 prove to be a match for the M1 Abrams in large group battles, but in 1v1 situations they fare less well. Fortunately for the TO-4, there are a lot of them. Rockets pound TUN, a howling organ performance. They get no sleep, specialized bombs are dropped on them that make loud sounds, but TUN is effective and their training is superior. In addition, HMKX is mobilizing its reserves, and they are mobilizing a 10,000,000 strong army to likely defend against any potential EC invasion. HMKX's reserves and army capability are far more vast than that of the European Commonwealth, and HMKX knows this. HMKX simply needs to draw out a sustained war against the EC, and a famous Russian General will come to the rescue as well as the Empire's most famed General, not recognized in any book, but everyone knows is responsible. General Industry and General Winter, two things EC simply are outmatched at. HMKX has ordered 15 more Antiship Cruisers and 20 more Submarines from their factories, with the first 5-5 batch finished in a year, the next 5-5 batch finished 6 months after that, the next 5-5 3 10 posts after that and the 5-Submarine batch 5 posts after that. (TUN finished a Supercarrier in 6 months (somehow), I think I'm being fair here). They have also ordered 4 more general-purpose cruisers, 1 at a time 20 posts first one and 10 posts thereafter. 3,000 tanks are being ordered, as well as several million artillery shells. Very costly, but very effective. The newly ordered Supercarriers (2) will be improved and part of a new subclass. Also, my formula for calculating construction times of ships varies by ship for Yi-Sun Shinit's X+1=Number of Years (X=Number of ships built) You know what everyone seems to interpret my secrets as foolproof, when they are not. I'll set a timer between actively mining for the secret and breakage for each clearance level. LEVEL 3: 6 months, not even top secret and likely to expire and become useless before this date. LEVEL 4: 1 year to 3 years, depending on importance and shelf life. The longer the shelf life and importance, the longer it takes. LEVEL 5: 3 years to 5 years. Low-level military secrets fall into this category. LEVEL 6: 5 years to 30 years. Serious ethical violations fall into this category's high end, high-level military secrets middle zone and damaging information in the low end of this category. LEVEL 7: So well protected as to take forever. Of course, HMKX does not classify everything like this because it costs a lot to have information LEVEL 7'd. Nuclear launch codes are in this category. BROTHERHOOD: Requires anomalous abilities/magic, exclusively left for SOG members by other SOG members as a verification of identity and secret information transfer.
The European Commonwealth's armies have united into a unified command, and conscription has been implemented in all Commonwealth countries. This force numbers around 140-150 million men, with one hell of a lot of planes and boats and tanks. It will take 10 posts to fully mobilise. Indonesia and Namibia are not affected by conscription... yet. The Commonwealth has now declared war on Turkey, jumping to the aid of Greece. The FRNS-Finnish border has been fortified and a force gathers ready to storm Eastern Europe. It demands that the HMKX stay out of this. They maintain that even if the Siberian project was done, which satellite imagery indicates isn't the case, blockading Istanbul would be detrimental to the Russian people.
The greatest naval battle was somewhat a loss for TUN. Although TUN suffered tremendous casualties and is currently being "impaled" by the HMKX army in Palestine, the Empire did indeed lose enough of their own casualties and TUN seems victorious in that part... Something needs to be done NOW though. Saragota and Nimitz are both under heavy defence, although Nimitz stands stronger with a better fleet protecting them along with an ambush, yet Saratoga's defence is strong but weaker. It's time to start the OFFENSE. A specialized submarine force has located a strong Empire presence in the Aegean Sea and has gone onto a hunting mission. The 5 submarines met a small Empire fleet of 2 cruisers, 1 destroyer 1 submarine. All 4 of them met their fate and sank to the bottom of the sea, yet 2 of TUN's submarines suffered damage from the fight and fled. Nukes were said to be unreasonable, yet no one said of "small" nukes hitting non-civilized areas... 5 B-52 bombers, all escorted heavily by 20 F-16s and F-15s which tattered up the ground defences. The bombers dropped 4 small nuclear bombs onto the Suez Canal. The southmost nuke, was 500t of power, while the two centred in the middle were 300t of power. The massive nuke in the north was 6kt. All 4 nuclear bombs delivered via 5 B-52 bombers as well as thousands of pounds of bombs were dropped on the Suez Canal. This is a huge problem for The Empire, as now their only way of entering or exiting from the Mediterranean is through the Black Sea, which Romania is fighting for. Now, the Suez Canal holds a huge United North presence, as about a dozen ships (both empire and of other nations) were completely bombarded with the bombs and now lay in the wreckage, acting as a wall in the Suez. TUN airforce gains air superiority in the area and tatters up Egyptian ground and air defences. The A10 Warthog supports a ground invasion by Israel by tearing up Egyptian troops. TUN Navy stands strong at the ends of the Suez Canal with a heavy blockade which would be nearly impossible to penetrate. Saudi Arabia and Iraq have returned to Jordan with a huge force and have dented TUN's military which focuses in northern Palestine. TUN was bombarded yet again with heavy artillery and was forced to flee back to Ammar where they were pelted by enemy fire. A response to The Empire's huge advancements in the north: TUN HEAVILY aids ground troops with over 40 A-10 Thunderbolt II's, 20 AC-130 Gunships, and over 200 F-16s and F-15s, along with hundreds of other aircraft. This is meant to bring a huge dominion over Northern Palestine and push out The Empire. The initial battle was a success, crippling Empire forces, yet TUN suffered many casualties from ground fire and was forced to hold back, yet the damage was done, and it gave TUN key strategic locations.
The Plans and testing for the famed McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet are complete. There is no reason for me to give so much detail on it because you ALREADY know how great it is, but it is a direct upgrade from the F-16 and is expected to be a HUGE asset to TUN Airforce as a supersonic multirole fighter jet. This beautiful beast is being rushed quickly into production and will be air carrier ready and fit to join the Mediterranean War in 8 posts. TUN's CVN-62 Independence has joined the Meditteranean. Now, the current supercarriers located in the Mediterranean are, The CVN-68 Nimitz, CVN-60 Saratoga, CVN-62 Independence. (The Enterprise was destroyed if I believe, don't quote me on it). The supercarrier that TUN seemingly finished in six months was the CVN-69 Dwight D. Eisenhower. It was on a production plan for a few years and planned as the second of the Nimitz Class. It was already halfway built, but due to the war it was pushed rapidly, hopefully, it holds up. It will enter the Mediterranean with reinforcements. 6 Destroyers, 7 Cruisers, 13 Frigates, 7 submarines and 4 amphibious assault ships. Although promised not to join the war as an armed force, California, Florida and Oregon both key NPAT members have offered a force of 20,000 men into the war. They will arrive at Israel and not join the frontline, but help with Peacekeeping missions and the extraction of rebel forces inside, as well as holding strong in the West Bank and aiding UN troops. Pakistan sends fleets of Naval units and their only aircraft carrier into the Persian Gulf. NPAT requested them to avoid joining the conflict due to their bad standing with India, who is currently in war with The Empire against TUN, a Pakistani ally, although Pakistan refuses and offers immense help. Italy mobilizes a strong naval force within the Aegean Sea and battles for Crete.
The UFOS Goverment has sadly decided that they want no more part of this war whatever the reprecussions we are pulling out of this war ALL UFOS ships have been given the order to retreat and return home we wish you luck HMKX whatever the outcome is
UFOS knows that the decision to pull out of the war will be met with reprecussions so they have stopped all inbound and outbound flights to ANYWHERE and have basically retreated into themselves
UFOS has also started placing ABM's around their ENTIRE border to ward off ANY attack from any nations
100,000 European troops have landed at Gallipoli, setting up a beachhead. They are left reeling from over 12,000 deaths and injuries. Their current objective is to hold down the fort before advancing further into the Dardanelles. European ships are hanging back, providing support with 2 aircraft carriers that allow routine bombing raids. Istanbul, however, is not yet blockaded and merchant ships are allowed through... for now. Meanwhile, a 1 million man strong offensive team has stormed into Greece, repelling Turkish attack. It is hoped that they will be pushed out of Greece entirely, and the EC will move through Bulgaria and link up with the Gallipoli invasion force to push through to Istanbul.
The Romanian Navy heavily backed up by NPAT members and TUN begins harassing Empire ships and borders in the Black Sea. Although the Empire's Black Sea presence is definitely larger than Romania, Romania still poses as a nuisance. Romania's navy has taken control over the Kerch Strait, blocking Empire ships from leaving Russia into the Black Sea. Romanian troops land on the beaches and set up a defensive and a stronghold in the Crimean Peninsula, at the city of Kerch. Their defences are strong, yet weak to tougher nations like the HMKX. It's just a matter of time before they are swept out. It will slow down the amount of Empire presence in the black sea for a while though. The Romanian Navy currently has captured only 1 HMKX Patrol Vessel, a small one.
It is very much done. How are you feeding a 140-Million army again? The logistics of this would be unsustainable. Taking Russia out of the equation, the maximum possible force is around 120 Million... But if you want to play dirty... The Empire's been playing at war, for now. HMKX has massed a 200-Milllion strong army. A biting taunt into the commonwealth. Is that all you can manage? We can do a lot more. The Turkish Navy has attacked the Romanians. Combined with a HMKX presence, they have been swept out. Istanbul will not fall. HMKX will sacrifice 10 million men before that happens. The HMKX Empire has sent a 4-Million force to defend Turkey and Istanbul. HMKX is well aware EC cannot keep this up. To field a 140-Million army is hugely detrimental towards an economy and will result in collapse in just a few months. If they don't, they're using magic. (OOC: I meant those rules as theoretical restrictions. Seriously, have you not considered the detrimental effects?) The HMKX Air Force comes in, full force. The UNAF is simply no match for sheer numbers, HMKX has gained Air Superiority. Their only node of acess blocked, HMKX has retaliated by launching a 1-Kt Nuclear Weapon at Gibraltar, it has been defined as a military target. HMKX aimed the Bomb so literally no one died. HMXK is producing ships and weapons, furiously. As war becomes a top priority, weapons are being pumped out faster. The HMKX Air Force has expanded to more than 32,000 Jets. The HMKX Navy is trying to clean up Suez, and HMKX is massing its heavy units in the Black Sea. Due to the natural effects of wartime industry, HMKX's Supercarriers will be finished by the end of this page. HMKX Antisubmarine Cruisers roam the sea, brutally exterminating any Submarines while Antiship cruisers guard them. But they are outmatched without UFOS help, and they know it. HMKX is once again offering a peace treaty, for a total return to pre-war conditions. If they do not accept, HMKX will attack and defeat Italy and Greece, hopefully forcing them into negotiations. NAE and Guinea both await instruction, and they will be useful.
OOC: The idea was to throw them bit by bit at Turkey, merely using them as an intimidation tactic to show the muscle of the Commonwealth. Most would just stay at home, functioning as reserves and helping with civilian duties, and would only actually be called up in the event of the HMKX declaring war. IC: A group of Greek and Serbian terrorists infiltrated Istanbul, being smuggled in by a merchant ship. They split into three groups, with one group commencing a mass shooting in the streets at 1:00PM exactly that distracted emergency services long enough for the other groups to put their plans into motion. The second group detonated a crude 10kt nuclear device in the heart of Istanbul, killing over 25,000 people and injuring a further 80,000, at 1:18PM. The first group were mostly killed by the authorities at 1:20PM, but the remaining few detonated chest explosives, killing dozens of people in the area, including emergency services. The third group detonated a second bomb in Uskudar at 1:48PM, killing 43,000 people and injuring another 70,000. In all, the terrorist attack has claimed the lives of 68,000 people and grievously injured another 146,000. A Balkan terrorist organisation, angered by the Turkish invasion of Greece, which it sees as imperialistic, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Federal Republic of the North Sea has condemned the attack, advising that the OEO arrange an immediate meeting. They assure the world that the European Commonwealth is investigating the bomb source and will launch an immediate crackdown on the terrorist organisation. They agree that a peace treaty with the HMKX should be discussed.
The Empire is producing for a 100-Million Army, the European Commonwealth will not last long with a such an unbalanced army. OOC:The EC has effectively doomed itself by doing this. It cannot feed them all, it cannot clothe them all, AltPunisher, what were you thinking? Edit: oh. HMKX is just waiting for the EC to fall into infighting. This mad dynamic cannot last. The Empire is now barely holding back Turkey from invading the Balkans. 20 posts until HMKX builds an artificial Canal to transport their ships in the Black Sea. HMKX has moved to defend Turkey, at all costs. The Black Sea is top priority. Turkey has instituted Martial Law. The only method of getting ships into the Mediterranean Sea is now the Artificial Canal being built in the Black Sea. TUN's Naval Power is now trapped, because just on the other side of the Black Sea lies 4 Supercarriers and a massive Cruiser force. Attacking that would amount to suicide, by any Naval force. HMKX is now pressuring TUN to sign a peace treaty. FRNS seems amenable to one, and their Naval power is trapped in the Mediterranean Sea. HMKX would allow for the ships' return if TUN and HMKX were at peace.
TUN chokeholds the Empire's navy currently in the Suez Canal with frequent hit and run attacks and major bombings. The Empire's Naval presence in the Mediterranean is dwindling, and it MUST be kept at bay to keep them out of the sea. The only passage to the Mediterranean now is through the Black Sea where The Empire and the Turks are strongest. Romania occasionally attacks like a gnat, yet they to the Empire they are gnats, and nothing but that. Gibraltar is weak from the bomb dropped on them, although HMKX presence is at a minimum in the Atlantic so there is no point in using it. The Suez Canal was completely destroyed by the bombings done by TUN, yet if the Empire can repair it in time and kick out TUN from the area they will gain a far greater advantage. Ships still get through, but its a much greater challenge now that TUN bombs their ships daily. OOC: Please guys don't have militaries of over 100 million men, it's not only totally unrealistic and would completely ruin your nation, but its unfair considering TUN literally has only 1.2 million personnel. With 140 million men you can kick down TUN's door and win ANY time, its just not fair because you have 1 billion people. TUN is pushing the production of their airforce, turning their 18,000 aircraft count to an insane 24,000, the fast production has been going on ever since The Empire joined the War. More men are being enlisted, and the army is expected to expand by 600,000 men in 3 posts making TUN army 1.8 million strong. The M1 Abrams is being massed produced and shows as a formidable force to the TO-4. Right now, 1 million United North fighters reside in the Mediterranean, 600,000 of those are located in the Middle East, fighting in Israel, Palestine, Jordan and other nations. The rest stand at guard in Greece, Italy and Europe to repel an upcoming attack from the Empire. Jordan has now been taken over, and the Saudi-Iraq defenders completely wiped out. Right now, TUN/Israel control all of Jordan, the West Bank, Gaza, and the Siani. North Palestine is still under Empire control, but they are being held back.
Not many UNRN ships are in the Black Sea, just a few. Most NPAT ships are from Romania because they literally border the black sea. We do have a way to get out though, and that's through Gibraltar where FRNS is stationed at. Sure, the nuke caused damage, but it isn't a canal which can be enclosed.
Ahem, A 1/4 OF YOUR NAVY IS TRAPPED IN THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA. Also 100 Million Armies are hard to supply and that was mostly a bluff. 70 Million is the best HMKX can manage until they improve food production.
Fine then. MOROCCO! HMKX will eventually attempt a breakout from the Black Sea. For now, HMKX vessels in the Mediterranean Sea are fleeing to Turkey.
I mean, Gibraltar is a huge passage to the Atlantic, nuking it doesn't enclose it like you would nuking a canal which isn't as wide. You couldn't of taken control over it either because of the large FRNS presence and if you did lock it down, TUN Atlantic navy would be able to push through anyway. Unless you're not talking about locking straits and just talking about the sea itself, then no, we aren't trapped.
