Minecarts and rails

  1. Minecarts are long over due for an update for more control.
While sitting in a mine cart you should be able stop, speed up, slow down and not bounce off a reverse direction when you collide with another minecart on the track.
Minecarts could be made so that several of them could be connected and attached to each other.
Power rails could be easier to make and push further on the track.

Regular track and power track really needs to have 45* angle track that moves the minecarts at regular track speeds.

  2. Please suggest this to Mojang, as this is something that EMC is unlikely to change.
  3. Ya I thought of that but was hoping EMC would suggest it to Mojang too or just implement it.
  4. I could disagree with some of these and some of these are already possible.

While sitting in a mine cart you should be able stop, speed up, slow down and not bounce off a reverse direction when you collide with another minecart on the track.

You can already do that on rails. Use the forward key and look in the direction you want to go. Also minecarts bumping into eachother and boucing back can be useful in some cases.

Minecarts could be made so that several of them could be connected and attached to each other.

Mojang added that feature back in Alpha minecraft, its known as a minecart train.

Power rails could be easier to make and push further on the track.

They are pretty powerful as they are, but if you still want to go even faster at a long distance, and like you said earlier control the entity you are in as well as dont bounce back from other entities, what you are looking for is boats. Bots on packed ice go much faster the minecarts on Powered rails, you control them, and when they bump into something they stop or just ram through it.

Anyways, we are still waiting for dragon tombs.

  5. I don't think this works, though. Minecarts can push other minecarts forward, that's why you can make a train. But if the pushing minecart then reverses, the other minecarts will be left behind.
  6. For reference, EMC has about as much sway with Mojang as any individual here, and it'd be incredibly difficult (if not impossible) for us to implement it ourselves.

  7. Hm, I have a feeling you might be wrong because I don't know what your talking about. The minecart train I'm talking about is litterally a train of minecarts. Like real life the train parts do not get pushed down the track they get pulled.
  8. I hope minecarts get some changes in the future. I remember when Mojang made them faster, to the point that it made powered rails look useless. Unfortunately, they had to revert the changes, because they derailed on hairpin turns... :\

I would like the idea of chaining carts together, because there are others I have met that would love that feature in the game. :)
  9. i do hope these changes get implemented they are cool
  10. Interesting. How?
  11. They say that if you place carts as close as you can they link up. Or you can place all your carts with a furnaces cart, make the furnaces cart back into your train make sure there a block at the end. Then click on furnaces cart and it go with the other carts.
  12. What Nuttyknight said ^. You put minecarts squished together and they link. But yeah I think it just works when the first minecart is a furnace.

  13. Controls are definitely clunky for minecarts, and it also wouldn't hurt if they doubled the speed at which they go. On top of the fact that their controls are horrendous when it comes to moving in nonstraight directions, Minecarts are one of the slowest modes of transportation and not even powered rails help with that.
  14. Shame i sure do like minecarts. : (

  15. Elyctras and Horses make for better alternatives, Elyctras more so because of the options you have with both speed and movement.
  16. Getting off track can they carry cargo. Perdon the pun. : )
  17. Houres and wings?
