The 1.11.1 Update!

Discussion in 'Community Discussion' started by Tuqueque, Dec 15, 2016.

  1. Same as with gold nuggets: make ingots.
  2. Crafting back to iron ingots?
  3. Edit: Rofl, double ninja'ed

Craft into iron ingots, like gold nuggets into gold ingots

Correct, I just didnt feel it necessary to add a whole new item for it...

  5. Interesting, thanks for the update! (on the update) :)

  6. Cause turning gold swords into gold ingots would have been way too OP, so they had to have iron swords turn into iron nuggets to match turning gold swords into gold nuggets.
  7. The gold armour/swords to nuggets is nothing but a win. Most just throw them out. I can see justifying the fuel to do so. Can't say the same for iron though. Just not enough of them to be worth it especially when you need 9 to make 1 ingot. Your better off making 1 iron farm cell at that point.
  8. Just incase it wasn't already expected, Firework Rockets WILL NOT be infinite.
Fireworks Infinite nature may need to be reconsidered if they do damage now though in the wild.

Maybe best to just remove the damage.
  9. Yeah, I think they should do some balancing. I mean, it makes no sense that both a chestplate and boots end up as 1 single ingot.

I should have grouped my posts together, I'm well aware, got a little over-excited. I think Mojang is really on the right track here, this update is exciting!
  10. I think it's better to reconsider infinity. In town this should be a thing I think, but in the wild this becomes a little too OP because it would also allow you infinite Elytra flight.

  11. infinite flying is kinda a thing already cause you just need 1 paper and 1 gun powder for 1 firework...
    (EMC changed recipe)

I think that using regular firework and dispenser fireworks should be infinit, but when in elytra it will consume it. Also make promo fireworks not work with elytra and not consume-able
  12. Also you might want to make a subflag for firework use on elytra

  13. Did some testing. It appears that it is a 1 to 1 ratio for smelting golden swords into nuggets, and that there is no chance to get more than one nugget per sword. Will test this with looting enchantment on the sword, but I doubt that will change it. It seems to be this way also for swords that are damaged, just put a golden sword that had zero durability in a furnace in-game and it gave a golden nugget.

EDIT - the looting enchantment did not seem to have an effect on the number of nuggets that you get for smelting an item.

  14. The Vanilla smelting mechanics have always been 1-to-1.

    1 Raw Item = 1 Product

Hopefully the source code for this functionality isn't too hard-coded..

Also, are we, EMC, going to update to 1.11.0 next week or wait for 1.11.1? Christmas Day is the weekend of next week from now.

  15. Keep the damage. It allows players to do the Difficulty 10 Marlix Firework challenge.

You guys sort of dug yourselves in a corner with promotional fireworks. Do you allows fireworks to be infinite, allowing infinite flight or have them be finite, making you have to create some sort of workaround with promotional fireworks.

  16. Good point. Which, in my opinion, would make it more logical for them to drop 1 ingot instead of one nugget. Every bit helps, and that's the truth, but from a gaming perspective it makes little sense.

I'd personally have used both: if you smelt a nearly undamaged piece of gear you'd get 1 ingot. But if you smelt something smashed up (at least below half) then it only drops a nugget. Seems more fair to me, and also balances it out a bit more.

Krysyy already hinted at the update possibly happening next year. So I'd be very surprised if they wouldn't wait for 1.11.1. Also because there are some annoying bugs in 1.11 (like the heads being backwards).

  17. Firework Rockets are not the same thing as Fireworks.

Usage in Elytra will consume, where as launching of a visual firework will not.

They are not even the same item (the uses for elytra do not have charges)

I don't see the point in that.
  18. Plan is to release 1.11 when it's ready which is very likely to be in the next 2 weeks.
were not even to Pre Releases for 1.11.1 yet and no significant reason to wait.
As said above, they are not linked together. Elytra will consume, launching of fireworks wil lnot.
  19. Good Idea, maybe Fireworks would not be infinite in the wild/waste, but in town they are? Like Elytra Flight...
  20. Which is exactly the problem. Both will propel you where usage of fireworks will even give you a cool colored trail.

(edit) Just mentioning because I got a little confused by your message. I could imagine if it's two events where launching doesn't consume and elytra propelling does, but that's not something I know right now. But your message made me assume that you think that there's no issue because of the difference in items.
