The command /chat replace, if added, will allow players to replace certain words (like something you wouldn't like to see) with other words. It is particularly useful for those who would like their younger siblings or their kids to join the server. For example, a parent showing EMC to his/her child would not be worried about their child seeing inappropriate words while on EMC. Another example of why the command would be useful is if a player does not want to see certain words (cringy words, for example). Usage: /chat replace "word to find" "word to replace" Here are some examples: /chat replace "fam" "family" /chat replace "lit" "cool" /chat replace "legit" "legitimate" /chat replace "tho" "though" /chat replace "damn" "dang" /chat replace "The server sucks. I'm leaving." "This server is so amazing that I just can't stay." Replaced words will be gray to avoid confusion. For example, if a player asks Krysyy if he/she can have 1,000,000,000r, and that player has replaced "no" with "yes," the word "yes" will be gray (so if a screenshot is taken, no one will believe it's true). EDIT (11/7/2016 - 12:57 a.m.) More commands: /chat replace add "find" "replace" /chat replace del "replace" /chat replace list What you type won't be replaced (tuqueque asked this) The word you want to find must be more than one character long, and the word you want to replace it with must be less than twenty (20) characters long (jkrmnj brought up this issue). If the message sent, as a whole, exceeds a certain length (three lines of text, for example), the message gets cut off
But fam, it's legit lit tho. I only really use tho if I need to type quickly, cringy words I'm all for removing.
The only problem I can see is if you change "i" to "skjfhskfjhdskfhdsjfksdhfksdjfhsjkfhdsjfkdsfksjfs9sjdfhsdkf" and what that might do to the character limit in chat. If something can work around that, the idea sounds cool although a mod might work as well.
Or it could be used for players like this right? omg i wanna to go dat wayyyyyyyy /chat replace "omg" "Yes!" /chat replace "wanna" want /chat replace "dat" "that" /chat replace "wayyyyyyy" "way" Yes! I want to go that way. End of the line annoying spammers (+1)
For anyone who REALLY wants this feature, look into Macromod's chat filter - you can do this with the replace function
Okay, at first I didn't like this suggestion - well, I mean, I wouldn't like it implemented - , until you mentioned making the words grey. Then I don't see any real problems with it anymore, from the customer's viewpoint. I don't see this being very useful either, but I do think it could be funny when setting these for weird combinations and then forgetting about it until you see it happen.
