  1. I decided this might be interesting.

Do what the title says: list what your favourite albums by the decade are. If you need an example, don't worry, I'll start.

I'll start off with the 1960s. There's a point for me, where, stylistically, music goes too far beyond what I'm used to hearing and I can't enjoy it properly. That cut-off point is before the 60s.

So basically, 1960s: Cream's Wheels of Fire, released in 1968, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles, which was released a year earlier in 1967.

1970s: Dark Side of the Moon (1973) and Wish You Were Here (1975), both by Pink Floyd, and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars by David Bowie.

1980s: Organisation (1980) by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Thriller (1982) by Michael Jackson, Duran Duran (1981) and Rio (1982) by Duran Duran, Purple Rain (1984) by Prince, and Tango In The Night (1987) by Fleetwood Mac.

1990s: Loveless (1991) by My Bloody Valentine, Nevermind (1991) and In Utero (1993) by Nirvana, Definitely Maybe (1994) and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) by Oasis. A lot of 90s RnB also holds a special place in my heart.

2000s: Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2004) and Black Parade (2006) by My Chemical Romance, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008) by Coldplay, and Humbug (2009) by Arctic Monkeys.

2010s: We'll see in 2-3 years. So far it's looking like Born to Die (2012) by Lana Del Rey, AM (2013) by Arctic Monkeys, The 1975 (2013) and I Like It When You Sleep For You Are so Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It (2016) by The 1975, Pure Heroine (2013) and Melodrama (2017) by Lorde, Beauty Behind The Madness (2015) by The Weeknd, Awaken, My Love! (2016) by Childish Gambino, and Harry Styles (2017) by Harry Styles. Still not sure on Lust for Life (2017) by Lana - maybe that'll be up here in 2020.

  3. Okay...

I'll also start in the 60's. 1968 - Hair. This technically is a musical, but the songs have been relesed as an ambum aswell. It is the only album I own in this style and, I think, the only album in this style I like.

Then, 70's. There actually is only one album from the 70's I own, so that's easy. 1973 - Terry Callier What Color Is Love.

Okay, 80's. This is where it gets interesting for me. Lucky enough one of my favourite albums ever has been relesed in the 80's: 1981 - Joe Jackson Jumpin' Jive (love the alitiration) It's an amazing Jazz swing album with a lot of hyperactive Jazz.

90's 1997 - Erykah Badu Baduizm This (funk)Blues album is, in my oppinion, the best album ever made.

00's 2008 - Hardkandy Second To None This is an album I don't know why nobodey knows. I know, it's alternative Jazz, but, every modern-day-jazz fan I know liked this album such a lot that they bought it. (or one off the other two albums by Hardkandy) The thing is, hardkandy is incredebly unknown. They have only 2690 followers on spotify, that's nothing, really...

10's As a modern day jazz ffan, a lot off music I listen to is quite new, and so, comes from 2000 - 2015. So, I have a lot to choose from. 2015 - Melody Gardot Currency Of Man. This wouldn't be a Jelly music talk without Gardot, right? This is modern jazz in its best form. I don't think this is going to be beaten in the next three years.

I limited myself to one per decade, otherwise I would be typing for hours...
